Any idea which powerboard? There are 2: the G6 board (1-474-516-11) and the G7b board (1-474-531-11). My guess is the one that connects directly to the LD board (the G7b).Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

I just don't know, I haven't been able to fix a sony lately, I have been seeing a lot of them with problems that nobody seems to be able to figure out what the fault is, still trying to sort out an xbr900c but not working on it lately. Nick's TV who posts here and on youtube is very good with sonys, maybe check his youtube channel.Comment

The backlight replacement strips do match the ones you replaced right? see if both the old and replacement strips have same readings when tested with multimeter, test each one, try using diode setting, [diode and ohm readings ALWAYS taken with tv unplugged from power, for anyone looking on that may not be aware, don't want to blow up the multimter] test then reverse probes and test, maybe also, since you have 2 led driver boards, test both of those, see if you have any differences, wonder if they sent you a bad one, have you tried original with the replacement strips?Last edited by nomoresonys; 04-04-2023, 03:40 AM.Comment

Another possible test is unhook cable from LD board to mainboard and cable from tcon to mainboard, then try tv and see if it's still blinking 4 times.Comment

I unhooked the ribbon cables from the LD/main and t-con/main and the result was a different error (5 blinks).
I tried both the old and replacement LD boards with both the old and new LED strips and got the same result with all tests.
I tried testing the old and new LED strips in diode mode, but I'm not really sure how to correctly test these strips (see photos - top is new, bottom is old). I should also mention that I plugged the old strips back in and they all appear to work fine.Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

I tried unhooking just the LD board, and the backlights would not power on, but the TV didn't power off or give any error codes.Comment

I think that means it's still very likely to be the LD board or backlights, or a connection thereof, the 5 blinks you got with tcon unhooked is probably to be expected because 5 does indicate tcon issue and that's what a normal working tv would do with the tcon unhooked.Comment

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times... -

I'm trying to see if this can be an easy fix, so far i found the service manual and followed the troubleshooting path a bit.
When I power on the TV, i see "SONY" quickly flash but then it goes back to black. The power light flashes white a few seconds and then red for 6 blinks.
The troubleshooting path had me check the BL_ERR signal and I have 3V so well above the written 1.9v threshold.
Then I verified the Out1 and Out2 voltage and that's where i'm stuck.

So I got this Sony and purchased it working.. got it home and it was 4 blinks red. Seller actually refunded me thankfully. Now it's massive to take apart and I know 4 blink can be the panel sometimes but not always..
But I found a method through other ways with grounding out the bl error pin on the LD driver board. Now the tv turns on and works.
Pin is number 27. It was either remove the resistor right next to the solder pad or solder the pad to ground. I soldered the pad.
Now what is this going to do to the tv? Is it just going to die shortly down the road?...
