Samsung UN70NU6900F no picture and no sound

    Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

    Symptom:
    No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
    No sound at all.

    What I tried:
    1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon cable to the panel, if I unplug EITHER cable, the LED backlight stays on and gains sound(smart hub sound when turned on) TV now stays on. If I plug both, I get the same symptom above.
    2. If I unplug the power cable from the power board to the mainboard (the mainboard gets no power), the LED backlight stays on. No sound.
    3. If I unplug EITHER the left or right panel film ribbon cable(third pic, brown cable), the power LED will STAY ON. If I press the hub button I get the smart TV sound. but no image whatsoever.
    4. I tried the tape method. simply put as long as I keep the 2nd pin from the right side from either the left or the right cable(doesn't matter both), all ribbon cables are plugged in, the backlight stays on and I get the hub sound. But still no picture. I tried covering different combinations of pins prob 10 attempts, but I got no image at all.

I ran out of ideas and had to post here to ask for advise to you guys. Please help!

There is a thread on this tv already I believe.

But basically it’s a panel issue as you have confirmed that it stays on if either side is unplugged from the panel. You can check for shorted caps on the panel/ buffer board. Most likely tape method is your best shot though. Just haven’t found he right pins to cover.

      It’s a tedious process sometimes

Yea, I saw that post but did not help me.
Tried the 25/30DCV from R13236 to VGH with wire and 84th pin tape did not help. I get 0.1~0.2 mV on that R13236 register pin when TV is one(without and with ribbon, same throughout the settings)

Need little light on finding that right pin.

I also noticed that if I plug in either ribbon after turning on the TV after unplugging the ribbon, I get the full picture perfectly. Turn it off and it does that blinking again.

Thats a good one, I'm still wondering how Diah figured out exactly which lines to block, Diah you must be a dam tv whisperer, great work. reference from the movie "The Horse Whisperer" 1998, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119314/ pretty good movie.

Tried masking 14~23(9pins), but still blinking(twice).

It’s trial and error then unfortunately.

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                  by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                  by Ierwin
                  Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

                  Hi,

Mainboard is based on pcb BN41-02695A BN94-14007B

                  I will appreciate any help

Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA ~ No Picture or Sound - 5 Res Light Blinks
                  by kca
                  Hello all ~

I’m working on this Samsung 60” LED and purchased a new main board a couple of days ago that did not fix the 5 blink issue. The original main board’s HDMI ports (all 4 of them) failed to work and no amount of reflow remedied that.

This 5 red light blink code on the front panel LED is followed (about 15-20 seconds afterward) by an automatic reboot, and results in 5 more red light blinks. Then the entire cycle repeats itself indefinitely.

                  No picture. No sound.

I tested all the voltages coming out of the power supply...

Samsung UN70TU6980FXZA no sound no picture but does have backlights
                  by stinger
When I turn tv on, the backlights come on but there is no sound or picture. I have read that these tv's have problems with the panels going bad but the "no sound" has me questioning if the main board is bad. Is there a way to troubleshoot the main board to determine if that is the problem?
