Fujifilm X-Pro 3 Freeze after Setup

Hello all,
I recently got a Fujifilm X-Pro 3 body and am having some problems with it. At first it wasn't turning on at all, with the only option was to go into firmware upgrade mode. I have upgraded the firmware to 2.00 and it does boot succesfully now. However, after going through the time and date setting, pressing OK or back turns the screen to black and opens the viewfinder.

Turning off and on again leads me through the same steps and the same outcome. I've tried using two new batteries as well, with no avail.
I'm not sure if this is still firmware related or a hardware issue. Is it possible this occurs from trying to use the camera without a lens?

What happens if you don’t set anything up in that menu and do a factory default? I don’t have a Fuji but a different brand and they want me to do a factory default after the firmware upgrade.

allways do a "factory default" after upgrading anything,
the update may store variables in different memory locations

It did reset to default after the firmware upgrade, but I cannot get past this screen and into the menu to do another factory reset. I could not find a way to reset this outside of camera settings, like a combination of buttons or battery removal.

Indeed the time date / area setting is mandatory after flashing. The only thing I can think of is that the firmware you upgraded from was stone old. Sometimes you need to have a certain firmware first before you can go to let’s say v2.0.

Also there is a new initialize function. That also will reset the date time and area, everything but white balance?

apparently you can upgrade from any version to v2.0.
What does the camera suggest for date and time when you turn it on? Just acknowledge the suggested format.

The firmware itself isn't stored on the SD card, if anything is stored on the SD it's the user data / settings.

What happens if you reflash v2.0?

I do know that lenses can affect the camera and can make weird issues like freezing or even rolling a film spool backwards after 3 pictures being taken. So yes, try a lens. Also the new lenses are firmware upgradable and that can be done through the body of the camera.

Edit: it does state to use the camera and lens with the new v2.0 firmware!

Thank you for your suggestions, although there is no difference. Here are my findings:
I have gotten a Meike 35mm lens to test, no difference. Firmware upgrade menu still shows 2.00 with lens on. Also, beforehand it was 1.33, so not too old.
It does not revert back to the time/date menu, it opens directly on the QR code.
With an SD card, there is also no difference.
Re-flashing is not possible as it simply tells me it has the same or newer firmware already (tried SD card with 2.00, 1.33 and 1.01).
I will post a video on what happens exactly when I press OK or back.

What happens when you scan the QR code with your cell phone? Does it try to establish a connection?
