    Hello All,

been doing some de-soldering and getting info off all the caps inside the recap subject - Antec True550 ESP12V

so here is all the #'s off all the caps I could get too..

there was 1 that was a tiny little dood that was down below the 3 coil area that I said forget it on..

    Antec True 550 ESP12V

    2-----------2200------10 TMR
    1-----------470-------16 TNR
    2-----------1000------10 TNR
    1-----------220-------16 TNR
    1-----------100-------16 TNR
    1-----------47--------50 TNR
    1-----------10--------50 TNR
    1-----------1---------50 TNR
    1-----------22--------50 TNR

The PSU is in great condition as I have had it since 2004-ish new

but the bad cap did plague it a few years back, well I scoured around and found some (temp) replacement caps to find if it was worth re-capping...so here I am

Need to know what caps are the best for this job as I have not a clue what all the esr values and stuff are/do..

I can solder and all but the knowledge of the specs on caps are beyond me..

Rubycon is the best right?? If so then thats the way to go, if there is better for the purpose of the PSU and heat, etc..whatever will get the job done and get this PSU back to maximum potential

Thanks for the great forum, if it wasnt for baccpas.net I would have thrown the Antec to scrape pile..

I usually use Panasonic FC in PSUs, although they are a bit bigger physically and you may have trouble fitting them in. Nichicon HE, Chemi-con KZE and KY, Rubycon YXF and WXA would probably be fine as well, although all will probably be bigger than the Fuhjyyu originals.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

      Thanks for the reply

So the Fuhjyyu originals are the only size that fits as manufactured..hmm well looks like a fit mod re-cap then lol..

none the less its worth it as I have been testing all the volts across my board tonight,
I have one molex connection that is for fan only x 2 that gives only 4.76.

ok after a quick search I found this ..

      Panasonic FC..

and right after that is this..are these better for this ??

Samxon RS series, 16v, 3300uf 10mm caps. They are perfect for psu's because their ESR isn't too low (having too low of ESR in a psu can actually cause more ripple)

Second verse, same as the first but these are 10v caps, you can replace the 2200uf's with 3300uf's as long as there is room height wise. Only problem is topcat is all out of them.

Just my luck and I was thinking I could order these today, if not I'll have to wait until next week, work etc..

Checking out Digikey is like W0W..has a butt crack load of everything to figure in to get what you want, didnt know that these little legged cans could be so many choices of them.

EDIT:. as I look at the Panasonic, I seen the M in the box on them as that is what is on the 200V 1200uf main in (I guess that is the mains)

CAP 3300UF 16V ELECT FC RADIAL Panasonic I see how the size is bigger I'll deal with that after I get these

Panasonic FK are the smallest you can find to replace the Fuhjyyu caps.

FK is good series but expensive (at least were expensive at rs store)

FM is better than FC, if you can get FM go for it.

Try to check the diameter of all the original caps and then look for same diameter good ones.
