Need help with identifying those parts

    Hi!

Can anyone help me to tell what these parts 1, 2 and 3 are on image?

1 and 2 both have Y2 written on them. Would also like to know how to tell if they are healthy or need replacement and what to keep in mind when buying replacements?

Part nr 3 seems to be resistor but I am confused because it has 100 written on it but it's value seems to be 10 ohm not 100 so just asking for confirmation. This resistor has now melted hole in it and smells after plastic/pcb when I power it on.

    10 ohm resistor ... 10 then 0 . last zero is how many zeros follow 10 . example 102 1k 1000 ohms .
y2 top of my head might be pnp transistor . might not as well .best wait for the experts .

Re: Need help with identifying those parts

      Thanks, looks like that yes.
      http://www.s-manuals.com/smd/y2

At the top this site also lists Zener diodes with code y2. Does anyone know what these pins 1,2 and 3 are for? For example, for PNP transistor it gives names for pins such as base, collector and emitter but for zener diode it doesnt give any names. For exaample in this PDF: https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...6aeaf9bc32.pdf

How do I know in that case what pins 1, 2 and 3 are for? And how do I test these? I mean so far I only know zener diodes with 2 pins. But I dont know what to do with 3 pin version.

Asking it because I seem to have these also and I want to test if they are good.

Update: I would also like to know what does R mean in resistor number?

If I need 10 ohm, do I need to by 10R? And also how do I know if it is right size?

pin3 is the zener cathodes - the pdf shows the internal diagram

resistors - R is short for ohms

Sometimes the `R` marked on a smd resistor is in place of the decimal as in 1R5 which is a 1.5Ω
The Y2 are likely PXT8550 PNP transistor, SOT89 case

Assistance with identifying resistor value on 820-02918 A2992 board?
            by ugamazing
Working on a 2023 M3 A2992 unit with 820-02918 board, and it uses a new USB-C power architecture, with rectangular controllers. I do not have a perfect-matching board, so have been repairing this one the old-fashioned way (slowly).

I managed to blow-away a single resistor that I can't find and can't determine the value of. It connects to ground, so I went ahead and stuffed it with a 100K resistor in case it's a simple pull-up. But, I'm now having issues with that side of the board, and am curious if it's possibly related to this resistor! I have no schematics and no board view, so...

Need help identifying resistor on Asus FA507RC DA0NJNMBAD0 schematic
            by dutchgaucho
            Hi colleagues,

Looking for a schematic DA0NJNMBAD0 or the MP2845A 6-phase PWM controller.

Working here on a DA0NJNMBAD0 rev D motherboard (Asus FA507RC) with liquid damage. Board has some tiny corrosion around the MP2845A controller and one resistor is missing. I need to know the value of the resistor, but no schematics are available. Not even for the MP chip or anything similar (this is a 6 phase PWM controller).

On one side of the pad 20V is present. The other side connects to a cap and to pin 16 of the MP2845A. Resistor seems too small for VCC...

            Help identifying resistor?
            by mrkmpn
This resistor is on a small board the fan connects to in a Brother MFC L5900DW. The fan does not work, and when testing this resistor it shows no reading all the way from 4M ohms, down the a continuity test, so appears to have failed open.

I've tried using a coupld of resistor calculators online, but I'm not sure which end is which on the resistor, and going both directions on the calculators I run into a value that doesn't have the correct color as an option.

I, believe the colors are black gold violet black orange, but maybe I'm mistaken on one of th...

Need help to replace burned resistor in 350w atx psu
            by mikey5791
            Hi to all forum members,

Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.

Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor...

            Need help identifying resistor.

So obv a 10k resistor. But I can't find wattage rating for it. Came from an automotive pcm. If that helps. Input voltage starts at 12v but I'm sure drops down to 3 and 5 etc.

Thanks in advance. And sorry if this is ridiculous. I'm still a bit of a novice.
