    Perhaps you're thinking of Everell's post(s) with drawings he did and modification to the 5vsb circuit on a Bestec 12E? There was also research done on the failure of the cap and how they went about replicating the cap failure and scoping the results. Now where the hell is that thread...?

      That probably covers the same thing but the one I'm thinking of is -maybe- a year or two older than that. Had some hand written drawings as I recall.

        Yeah, that's the cap.
        Thread I'm looking for has a drawing with the controller and goes into the circuit operation and failure mode.

                That's in the ball park too but the one I'm thinking of had some hand made drawings.

                I've been looking for it off-on for a awhile and haven't found it yet.
                Maybe it did get lost in a db crash.
