    finally ordered a new PSU

    Well, my old Fortron 350w couldn't hold up the Prescott, 8600gt, 3gb ddr2, and 3 hard drives, so I picked up one of these from newegg-

    Total price with a discount code was $41.99.

    I like single 12v rail PSUs, and 80 plus certified is just a bonus.

      A fortron 350W couldn't hold up that rig?

      My crappy rosewill 350W that came free with a $25 case held up a 3200+, 8600GT, 3 hard drives and 2 dvd drives. Still running the same rig minus 2 hard drives and down to a cd-rw drive.

          Well, I shouldn't say that it couldn't do it... It ran fine, but when the system was under heavy load, the PSU would heat up enough to kick the fan into high. Also, after some time at load, the +12v would dip slightly.

          The final straw was that the fan started groaning.

              Fortron is one of the better PSU brands out there - replacement NMB or similar ball-bearing fans should last the rest of the lifetime of the system.

                  I'm surely not trashing the old one... it just wasn't adequate for my "current" (haha! get it?) needs. The new PCP&C supply fits the bill nicely, without killing my bank account...

                      i think i accidently ordered non-polarized 10uf caps for my original xbox. will this cause a problem?

                      i ordered a lot of caps from digikey to repair my xboxs. one thing i ordered was 50NXA10MEFC5X11-ND caps and i think they are not polarized. will this cause any kind of a problem? i really don't want to order new caps just because of this.

                      Last year I bought a server. It's worked fairly well but had some issues. Some pcie slots didn't work and Xeon v4 is a bit slow and missing AVX 512. Came to realize that the next version up, with skylake uses mostly the same chassis.

                      A board popped up on ebay one day being sold for parts. A working board like this is over a grand at best. This particular one was about $125 and I decided to gamble.

                      At first it seemed simple enough. According to the description it looked like some mechanical damage.

                      Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1 BIOS repair

                      Good day,

                      I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

                      I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer....

                      Need help to replace burned resistor in 350w atx psu

                      Hi to all forum members,

                      Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
                      The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.

                      Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
                      Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor...
