I am sending it off to get fixed. For next time I will buy a riser. Someone helped me out with a diagram of where everything was and I'm putting it here to help others in the future.
Pex tested good, 2 caps near the fan connector are badly discolored. Nothing is obviously wrong from an unpowered test besides that. Maybe someone can suggest a cheap dock
    for this type of thing....

  • PNY XLR8 RTX 3090 dead. Is this PEX shorted? Am I cooked?

I rebooted my computer and suddenly it didn't detect. It was nvlinked to another card that works. Lights don't light up. I checked around with DMM from youtube videos but didn't find a really good diagram except the one from 3090 FE. Going by that it looks like this is PEX? In that case the last option is to lift the coil and see which side is shorted or GPU is gone?

This card started out used with a bad HDMI port and worked for about a year. Guess it doesn't work anymore. I was going to send it to a repair service in case of mosfet or some tiny IC they can air station swap. If the...

  • You need a WSON8 clip unfortunately. SOIC/SOP8 only covers the backup chip. I found out there are 2 bios on the board. For that programmer I think As programmer software will work.

  • I have 2 of these puppies and got myself into trouble doing updates. For some reason the efi never runs the capsule so cannot update to imageFH. EC can update and then make for an incompatible bios. Can also end up in manufacturing mode with the beeper if the nvram is erased. The dumps in here for FH all have serials/machinetype missing. Yea you can write them but its a pain. The "dobry" is indeed dobry, but it is an old version 1.5x iirc. So here I post my final dump based on 1.79 with whitelist for wlan, me disabled and descriptor unlocked. Its updated enough for me. May whoever stumbles...

  • I used a Pi B and a SP8 programmer. Ordered myself an WSON8 clip (https://www.ebay.com/itm/395919546375) but now am concerned about getting the glue off the pins. They don't appear to sell the chemical to soften it in the USA anymore. It's neurotoxic and got banned. Maybe it will scrape off with picks but am not sure.https://I used a Pi B and a SP8 prog...otoxic and got

  • Any tool will do it. Cheap CH programmer or raspberry pi. I recommend the bios clip mainly to not have to desolder.

Imo, this thread is very helpful to me. I hardware read the bios and it looks like this guy's:

20XW00FSUS.zip (9.91 MB, 17 views
Instead I'm used to dump looking like this:

X1 Carbon 9th Gen Laptop (ThinkPad) - Type 20XX.rar (12.08 MB, 44 views)
• Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 9. What the hell did they do?

I am trying to enable undervolt and disable me engine. I read the bios from 2 hardware programmers and FPT. Inside FPT, all looks normal. From the HW programmers, the Flash Descriptor is shifted, nvram is encrypted? or missing and LNVSEC thing isn't visible. I thought my programmer was broken but that seem to not be the case..

  • Well I appreciate the long reply but I think you overestimate how easy it is to just "go to another seller" or even find one of these boards. The system is https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/system/4U/4029/SYS-4029GP-TRT.cfm and the board is https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/motherboard/X11DPG-OT-CPU

The only other options for sale at the moment have broken socket pins. I also left it for a month sitting while the weather was bad and I was busy so I can't go back and return the board. Shame on me for not inspecting, I assumed seller...

  • Got in way over my head with Supermicro server board and upgrade.

Last year I bought a server. It's worked fairly well but had some issues. Some pcie slots didn't work and Xeon v4 is a bit slow and missing AVX 512. Came to realize that the next version up, with skylake uses mostly the same chassis.

A board popped up on ebay one day being sold for parts. A working board like this is over a grand at best. This particular one was about $125 and I decided to gamble.

At first it seemed simple enough. According to the description it looked like some...

I will be way more careful taking bezels off that's for sure.

Now I figured I have enough money why don't I buy a used one... all the cheap ones have cross-hatching when used as a 4k monitor

This is the 3rd display I broke in my life.

    1. Plasma against the couch fell over.
    2. Cart fell over on a commercial replacement. And took a repaired LCD with it.
    3. Now this hisense from my rushed, overconfident bezel removal....

    Wow, I did one better.

Pulled the TV apart again to straighten the bent pieces. I used warm water and actually had some decent success.

Unfortunately when removing the bezel I cracked the corner of the screen and the crack propagated all along the bottom. So now I have no 4k TV.

Mine had a single strip that turned on then off. The one at the very top. I replaced all of them in the hopes I wouldn't have to open the TV again.

Not much luck with hisense. The one this is replacing worked for a year after LED swap and it's already starting to have one strip occasionally flicker. The 58R6E was only made in 2019.

I'm not a fan of the "smart" features. This TV supposedly has a microphone? I didn't see one inside.
The power light blinks due to the roku being offline despite...

Can I buy another triangle somewhere? Not sure if I could even uncurl the tip. I could 3d print something but it won't be as clear and perfect.

I have a single glowing spot on the bottom of the screen. I know the lenses are on as they are new.

What else can it be? I did notice one of the little plastic triangles had a bent tip. Could that be it? I'm having trouble taking a pic of the light bleed but when you scroll it's visible and its starting to take away from my enjoyment of the display.

It's primarily used as a desktop with a low backlight so it only consumes 40W. Suggestions?

Some video: https://imgur.com/a/fiJWcJdhttps://I have a single glowing spot...en. I know the

  • Re: Sharp LC-70LE757U Flashing 2-5 :-( can it be saved economically?

I found the offender. These strips do peel off like tape without much effort.

What I did wrong was unscrewing the entire bezel. Next time I would only remove the L shaped pieces and the screws in the black strip on the afflicted side. Wasn't aware the frame broke into 4 because I could have done this screen down on pretty much anything.

    TV works now....

No horizontal lines. Vertical lines when the 4th cable but not 3rd is unplugged. All are "free" as in seemingly not stuck to the plastic like yours. I will have to take the bezel off to check for scorch marks. Maybe they're not shorted, just bad. I notice the bottom corner is the darkest.

Do I really have to peel the entire flex cable off or can I just cut it flat with the edge of the display. This thread didn't make that clear. As long as you get past the actual IC I don't get what the...
