    Yamaha RX A-1030

    Hello,
I am starting to troubleshoot a power supply board for this Yamaha RX A-1030
receiver.I have pulled out a diode RB215T.I looked it up and its called a
Shotky Barrier Diode. Can someone explain to me how this 3 legged diode
works and what would good readings be?

    Re: Yamaha RX A-1030

The RB215T is a Schottky Diode. The -60 behind the first part of the RB215T is the voltage rating on it. Basically you put your multi meter into diode mode. Then you put your black probe to the middle pin and the red probe to either pin 1 or pin 3. Coording to the spec sheet you should see the Forward Voltage drop on your meter. On the RB215T-60 it would be 0.58V. Now reverse the leads and do the same test over again. But now your meter should show "OL". That would mean the diode is good.

For a bad diode the DMM shows a short, a 0.0V drop. If either pin 1 and or pin 3 are shorted to GND, the diode is bad. There are tons of youtube vids on this.

Yamaha delay D1500, zener diode broken with no marking
        by debidoobs
        Hello,

im actually trying to save a d1500 delay from yamaha. I found the service manual but schematic is missing and BOM list is a bit unclear as components listed have no reference linked to the pcbs... In my case, one zener diode was broken (114 code on the pcb in attached file) and couldn't be repaired : it was a zener type package. In the BOM list i found 3 reference on this board : 1S555 (can be replaced by 1N4148), RD4.7EB2 (approx 5v rectifier), RD7.5EB3 (approx 7v rectifier)...

Actually the cathode goes to VCC of sram M5M5118P, without this diode missing, i have...

ESD Diode on HDMI output of Yamaha a1050 RCVR
        by budwich
I lost one of the two hdmi outputs on a yamaha rx-a1050 receiver. Of course, it is the hdmi1 which has the arc capability which was useful. The second output hdmi works OK.

I got an hdmi breakout board which gave me access to the "little guys" in the hdmi. I did some gross DC voltage measurements to ground and found that the Data1 pair (4 and 6) had a lower voltage than the working hdmi.... 1.1v versus 2.9. All others pins seem to be OK. Further when plugged into a display, there is no video but a message on the screen which I assume is the display's status for the...

Hello, I am looking for help to replace a damaged diode. The tristar was replaced and a diode was damaged in the process. I have a picture of the diode but dont have an exact donor. I mostly have macbooks for donors and only a few ipad and iphone boards. Diode part number: DSF01S30SCAP
Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks....

        TV backlight zener diode
        by unimatrix93
Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.

So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.

Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.

The led strips has 9 6V leds.

monowheel repair,Is the diode the problem?
        by NicRac
Hello everybody☺️ I am glad to be here and looking forward to a good discussion.

First of all, I am new here. Therefore I will shortly introduce myself.
I am Nico and currently I study Physics.
In my freetime I like to build and repair stuff. Especially big battery's.

A few years ago I got myself an electric unicycle, monowheel or however you call that.
The battery bms was broken so I replaced and resolder that. Nothing big.
I used this thing for some years and had a lot of fun. Unfortunately I used it last time in heavy rain. Usually everything...
