    2A265 Vcc and Gnd shorted

    Hi guys,

I have limited electronics knowledge, but I'd like to find out what's going on with this power supply I'm fixing for a DVD player as a hobby.

Here is the board in question:

The biggest capacitor there is 400V 22uF, receiving about 300V just fine. It's newly replaced too, as well as the small 47uF 50V capacitor next to it because of the black spot on the board there.

The 2A265 IC isn't receiving Vcc (pin 7), and it seems to be shorted to Gnd(pin 8). For the life of me I can't figure out why as the components connected to it all seem to be in good order when I measured them.

Can someone give me hints to what to do next?

Is that diode shorted on the bottom of the PWM?

The little red one marked D15? The 2A265 IC is the one marked U804.

That D15 looks to be Zener diode, so check and see if the Cathode is connected to the Vcc pin of the IC or not, if it is then lift one end of the diode off the board and then check the resistance between Vcc and Gnd again to see if it still show very resistance or not.

          HP Victus 15-FA1025NL , board DAG3PAMB8D0 REV:D, shorted CPU DrMOS and n-mos
          by modtool
          Hi to all,
the owner of this machine gave it to me after having opened it to take off the dust from the inside, telling me that after that it didn't start anymore.
I found that one of the DrMOS (AOZ5016QI) on the CPUCORE was shorted between VIN and VSWH, and that one of the two n-mos connected to the power jack was shorted aswell.
I unsoldered the two shorted components and verified that there were no other short circuits, then decided to power the mainboard, firstly with the lab power supply, then with its original HP 200w charger, but the behaviour is the same, the board starts...

Dead Razer Blade 14 2022, shorted CPU?
          by BalkanBoy
          Hi,

          today I got Razer Blade 14, Ryzen 9 6900HX and RTX 3070Ti.

Laptop was completely dead. I found shorted CPU VRM mosfet, shorted 19V mosfet and blown battery fuse.

I replaced it all, but still on CPU coil where mosfet was shorted I got very low resistance, near 0 ohms. On other CPU coils I got around 3 ohms.

Laptop now raises voltage on whole board, but still nothing comes on the screen. CPU gets 0.7V on all coils except the shorted one. CPU gets only slightly hot, below 40 C.

I removed coil and injected 0.7V, it draw around...

Apple 820-3662 VCore shorted to ground.
          by barry101
          Hi, Would appreciate some help.
I have an Apple Late 2013 15" A1398 MacBook Pro with Logic Board 820-3662.
Get charger light but no fan spin or chime. No liquid damage.
Found PPBUS and VCORE both shorted to ground. Other rails were ok.
Removed VCORE MOSFETS U7310, U7320 and U7330. Found U7330 was in fact shorted.
With the 3 MOSFETS removed, get PPBUS and fan spin. VCORE is still hard shorted to ground (0 ohms).
Attempted voltage insertion on VCORE to locate short using bench supply set at 1.0 VDC and 4.95 Amps (max current for my...

Dell Latitude 5501 LA-H181P shorted power rail
          by guizmo1967
          Hello,

          This is my problem:

          Laptop: Dell Latitude 5501
          Motherboard: EDC51 LA-H181P

I have two power rails shorted to ground, +1.0V_PRIM and +3.3V_ALW_PCH. I removed solder on PJP302, +1.05VALWP (pad1) not shorted but +1.0V_PRIM (pad2) shorted.

          I also cleaned PJP38, pad1 not shorted, pad2 (+3.3V_ALW_PCH) shorted to ground.

I measure the resistance of all the coils on the motherboard and they all were not shorted to ground except coil PL301 before I removed the solder on PJP302.

          I injected +1.05V - 2A...

          Hello, everyone!

I have some trouble with the G513-MP-GBM board, it's from an ASUS ROG STRIX G713IC-HX041W.

The total current consumption was about 200mA. The 0.8 Volt rail at the CPU was correct working.
But the power button has not been pressed...
          I found some spurious solder between the pads 6 (VRA_SVT) and 7 (APU_PWR_EN) of the PWM-controller, "U66000".
Which can explain why this power rail has been starting without...
