Hello, everyone!
I have some trouble with the G513-MP-GBM board, it's from an ASUS ROG STRIX G713IC-HX041W.
The total current consumption was about 200mA. The 0.8 Volt rail at the CPU was correct working.
But the power button has not been pressed...
I found some spurious solder between the pads 6 (VRA_SVT) and 7 (APU_PWR_EN) of the PWM-controller, "U66000".
Which can explain why this power rail has been starting without pressing any button.
After a good clean-up the "Autostart" of the 0.8 Volt power rail was gone and the total current consumption went to Zero.
Then I connected the battery. It went immediately to make a "click" sound, like a clock...
I measured the battery voltage, it went from 16.5 Volt down to nearly Zero.
Each time I connect it, I get the MOSFET "Q68003" blown. 3 times now :-(
Slowly, I get the opinion, that the controller ISL9538C is also damaged.
Because it doesn't shutdown the MOSFET, but it shall monitor the ingoing and outgoing current.
The first blown MOSFET, the Gate was shorted with Drain and Source and Gate.
The second and third blown MOSFET, only Drain and Source went shorted, not the Gate.
The second issue is the missing 0.75 Volt at the inductor in the upper left corner, "L61800".
I'm not shure which resistance I shall expect.
If I just measure the resistance, I get 0.3 Ohm. If I open the solder dot "PAD61800", I get 0,3 Ohm to the CPU direction,
and 12 Ohm to the controller direction.
So my first question is, what shall I expect at the inductor "L61800"?
If that voltage is shorted out by the APU, that's the end of the repair for me at that point.
Thank you very much for sharing your ideas with me!
FriedFred.
