Re: help to id a resistor on Vestel_17IPS11__rev4 power board

why is it hard to find them, is this due to china not labling things or something, iv found in the past when iv fixed older things its very easy to id them and get the parts very cheap at rs and other places, but these new devices i just cant find things for, even the scematic iv got of the board for instence lables things that when i look them up no where in the world seems to list anything by the names, such as that resistor on the scamtic says its a 4m7 but nothing exist with that name, i did find caps super cheap in the EU but finding these leds is hard.

in your video comments reec you said these are 3-4v 400mha smt but no where lists anything called mha from what i can tell so is that a typo should it be mah

ok so iv just been learning some stuff on another forum and i can test the leds by by doing V*A = W althoug i need to leanr how to read the amp now then LOL, then from that i can get nice and cheap from rs as like i said the colour no problem if it was i would split it with a prism and read it kelvin, really you are wasting your money buying off ebay as there hyped up prices for things that break regulay.

i dont buy of ebay thats the thing i keep a eye out for free broken led tvs and recycle parts maybe you should post a add on your local gumtree/facebook/freecycle sites for free removal of broken led tvs etc works for me in my area yes there usually smashed screens but handy for parts. If you manage to find some new leds that work ok and last post the part number im sure we will try them out too.

ye i thats a good idea to pick up broke ones, i will do that and start collecting, but would be better to learn how to fix things properly as those second hand parts might not last, after all we already know how many time these things blow so using parts from already broken ones is not to good, so anyway i will get some of these leds and test them from rs if there good il pop parts numbers on.

yes but if your just doing tvs repairs on a limited budget like myself saving money is always a good idea, like transformers/invertor transformers etc at least you can use a recycled part too test the unit then if works ok order a new one.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Assistance with identifying resistor value on 820-02918 A2992 board?
                by ugamazing
Working on a 2023 M3 A2992 unit with 820-02918 board, and it uses a new USB-C power architecture, with rectangular controllers. I do not have a perfect-matching board, so have been repairing this one the old-fashioned way (slowly).

I managed to blow-away a single resistor that I can't find and can't determine the value of. It connects to ground, so I went ahead and stuffed it with a 100K resistor in case it's a simple pull-up. But, I'm now having issues with that side of the board, and am curious if it's possibly related to this resistor! I have no schematics and no board view, so...

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

                Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
