I do not think insults helps anyone, maybe @Kaboom should be a bit more moderate, still Bianchi sometimes you are realy testing people's patience with your atitude. You really should be more modest and pay closer attention to what other say.

    Good luck

      I put 0.15 ohm..and the bulb is very bright...short guys..but with 22 ohm...all good..only I2v become 2.5v...clues? 5v is OK...Don t be mad..no theory here only matter of resistor take it easy n fun..could it be coupler..since I use used one from TV board..probably abit different character..

        with FET 4N60, I got 5.3V output but 12V = 2.7V....but I use 22 ohm for FET resistor...
if I put 0.22 ohm...it's shorted straight away....bright light one bulb...
I reckon, TL431 is cutting 12V voltage for some reason...could it be faulty ?

Are all the rectifier diodes ok?

If the 5v's ok, the TL431's very likely ok as well.

Quit using "shorted" willy-nilly like that - just because it draws more current doesn't necessarily mean something / anything is short-circuited.

PS: As pointed out before, that power supply was definitelt NOT designed with a 22ohm source resistor for the switching FET...

So what did you do to fix it?
Changed the TL431 or something else?
