    Forton Source FSP PSUs

    Just a quick question

What is the heads up on these?
    Are they work recapping?
Are they better than equivalent Seasonics?

I have had two of these as with FSP350-60MDNRevA 350W ATX with
    active PFC.

    Thanks for any insight

if it's ost&teapo inside, i would say these don't even need recapping.
those caps are good enough for psus.

i wouldn't say you have equivalent seasonics, as they start at 2x prices of fsp...

if you want 2x pricier, get corsair, that has good caps...

    it's interesting that such fsp

    actually got better user rating...

seems few corsairs(of that model) that fail are usually DOA...that shouldn't be happening, because even their cheapest model is rather pricey...where's the quality control?

      Alas,

These are OEM built Forton Source for Advent, Medion and the like.
A quick look inside and its Jamicons in the O/P filter.

      No surprise really!

I have a Seasonic SS-300GS with PFC, it was this I was referring to.

      Thanks

Well if OST's are ok, then how about one of these?

Edit: I hadn't noticed your location. Don't know if they'll ship over there.

          Y

I have seen the thread reviewing the 550W Acbel - interesting.
These are found in Sun Workstations I believe.

As I recently acquired a dead Power Mac G4, I found
an Acbel in that. It is an Acbel API-9841 126W PSU.

I was going to use a good 550W and mod it for MAC purposes.
The MAC has 64-bit PCI slots - so good for a RAID adapter
and a HDD array albeit an adapter upgrade to a 2GHz CPU
          is pricey.

As the AGP graphics in the G4 has further, an additional ADC connector
at +24V which powers MAC VDUs directly, I can even so,
use a normal AGP card with DVI which means I would not be able to use
a MAC VDU - no big deal there.

          Thanks
