    FSP350-60PN recapping.

Shame on Fortron for stuffing a good PSU with a junky 120mm fan that finally siezed without me knowing it. Funny, I was not all hot about blue LED till one day blue LEDs went out, thankfully.

And to top this, it needs caps in outputs.

    So I need these: 4 3300uF 6.3V (three were 10V'ers) and two 2200uF 16V all 10mm.

This was early quiet PSU years ago when finding one is a rarity.

    Cheers, Wizard

3300uF 6.3V is easy. Available in many good brands/series.

2200uF 16V in 10mm and good brand/ratings is near impossible.
    (I need 20 or 30 myself.)

Samxon makes them in that size. Even a 3300uF 16v RS is made with 10mm diameter.

Chemicon LXZ is available in 1500uf/16v/10mm.
Panasonic FJ is available in 1800uf/16v/10mm with 2.8 Amp Ir - highly recommended, no fails to date.

In their data sheet the highest uF of RS in 16v 10mm shown is 1500uF. Some of Big Popes stock lists sizes that don't exist in Samxon data tables too, which makes me wonder what's going on with Samxon.

I love FJ's but I'm replacing 3300uF 16v (Fuhjyyu) with 2200uF already and I don't want to go down any more than 2200uF.

1800uF should be okay for Wizard if the original caps are 2200uF.

One dealer sent me some Rubycon PX series they advertised as "Low ESR Motherboard caps" and they are SO - NOT - low ESR that ESR is not even shown in the data table.
Their ripple is only 2/3 of what the crap Fuhjyyu are.
          That was computekinc.us.
I got tired of them not answering emails and ordered some just to see what they have.
The answer is they don't answer emails because if they don't have good caps they'll substitute CRAP parts and call it good.
(They were using MBZ in their photo for the PX caps.)

Panasonic FK series shows a 2200uF 16v 10mm but I haven't been able to source any.
[ FK's ripple/ESR is rated between HE/KY and KZE/ZL and lifetime is better than FC. ]

3300uF / 16v 10mm and 2200uF 10mm are certainly custom made. BigPope has ordered some of those custom sizes and therefore 3300uF /16v /10mm is available. Same for 2200uF 16v 10mm GC series.

              Thanks,

The issue is it a hell to order cross border from other electronic suppliers and many don't deal with small-time buyers especially I like to use money order. This is why I asked Wolf first then I'll try the badcaps.net's to order capacitors. I'll have to put this on hold till I have the motherboard as well so I can recap it and this PSU.

Is there a GOOD supplier in canada where I can get hard to get decent capacitors like you are using as well?

              Cheers, Wizard

Panasonic FK is very good if you can source it - it is manufactured both in Japan and Malaysia, and the Malaysian ones (with wide-scoured vents) seem to be just as durable as the Japanese. I've used them for about 2 years in mobo VRMs as well as PSUs, without a single failure.

Digikey canadian distributor does not have any except this Nichicon pdf pages:
                  1501-1549, last page:

                  LF series, aluminum solid electrolytic.
                  What I'm interested in is 4V 820uF, 10V and 16V both 470uF respectively.

Looks like I have to order other capacitors via badcaps.net by order money. :P
