    Part ID Help

    Hello All,

I'm trying to identify and source this part. The letters are AH RY. Attached is a pic of it.

According to this it is NPN transistor (it's SOT-23) but who knows with these tiny ones http://www.s-manuals.com/smd/ry

it could also be a switching regulator,
that code matches a lot of parts.

There is something which looks like Q5 on the PCB which leads to me to think it may actually be a transistor

Good straight shot pictures of the whole board (top and bottom side) will help.
It looks like it drives Inductor L6.

I see no SOT-23 in there.

                  i see not SOT-23 on the board - 3 legs and a tab = SOT-89

Oh, right. But isn't it smaller than SOT-89? Seems to me. And there is still that Q5 (or Q9) marking on the board.

SOT-89 is the small one, SOT-223 is the larger one.

i'm not saying that's the part, but i wouldnt be surprised if it was a similar part from that company.

Thanks guys for trying but, I found the problem to be cold solder joint on one of the terminals. This board has 32 IrLEDs on it and is used with a camera to take pictures via a motion sensor. (A hunter's camera). Thanks again guys for trying.

Except that it's 16 LEDs rather than 32 I have that exact same board from a physically damaged camera sitting on my desk. The AH RY transistor, coil, and Yellow/Black/Red wiring are identical.

You didn't happen to take voltage readings on the red and yellow wires while you were working on it did you?

I'd like to power it up and use it for another camera project but I need to know if it wants 12V or if the camera pre-regulated it down to 5V. The LEDs are wired in 4 sets of 4 series runs from what I can see on the back of the board. The front is covered with a spacer designed to set the LEDs at equal height when they were soldered in. No way to remove it to look.

I haven't taken a meter to it yet.
