if the metal was any thiner you could screw it up like paper & throw it in the trash.
and why is it the very psu's you may need to stop fast are missing a power switch?!?!

so in short, i say "NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooo"

Bought one to autopsy to use or not... I thought in win made decent products just tough to see how it's possible to make a good $15 PSU. I'll report back!

Disagreed. In Win Power Men are usually half decent. Every one I've tested has been able to deliver it's rating well in spec. The caps may be a problem in a few years, though (being OST and Teapo). It looks like it might be a slightly cut down, 80mm fanned version if the IP-S400CQ2-0 (http://hardwareinsights.com/wp/in-wi...review-v2-0/3/)

I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

I was hoping that as an In-Win product it would actually be of decent (well, passable) quality. I can live with caps only lasting 2 years because ROI will be fine by then.

I'm not expecting unicorns from a sub-$15 PSU, I just need something that at least meets ATX spec for budget servers without dedicated video or anything like that.

Even 2 years should be fine. Was thinking more 4-5 years (although for me, even that is way too short a lifespan, since I like to re-use PSUs for at least 3-4 rigs). For $14, though, it's a steal. You can do a heck of a lot worse at that price.

For $1 more I can go with a 480W Logisys I think this In Win is my best choice!

Do not go with Logisys, you will burn down all of Fairfax for sure.

well i do respect power-man products in the past,
but that case just looks scary cheap.
and that makes me wonder if they cheaped out on the inside too.

also, i like a power switch, it saves arcing the damned connector when you plug the cable in and out.

I've seen one of these 80mm fanned ones before, and it looked identical to the IP-S400CQ2-0 internally (although I guess the fan grille could be a little better)

As for the power switch, there is one at the outlet on the wall, you know.

Just curious, how many power supplies are you looking for?

I'm in the Napa\Fairfield area (live in Fairfield now, still go to school and such in Napa) and I might be able to dig up some power supplies you can have. I'm still unboxing so I have no idea how many I have around.

Wow, this has got to be the best sub-$25 PSU on the market.
                                  Here's a Mini-Review of the IP-S350T1-0 ATX12V Power Supply

                                  First impression:
While it doesn't weigh as much as a 1000W Power supply it's comparable in weight to most OEM power supplies. Definitely not a Logisys/Powmax sort of thing!

                                  The guts:
Reasonable heatsinks (as seen through vent before disassembly), a thorough input filter, and Teapo capacitors make this a reasonable choice for a low-cost computer or server.

                                  Connectors:
                                  - 20+4Pin ATX Connector
                                  - 4+4Pin CPU Connector
                                  - 6Pin PCI-Express Connector
                                  - Strand1: Molex, SATA, SATA
                                  - Strand2: SATA, Molex, Floppy(Berg)

                                  Yes, that's 3x SATA, a 4+4Pin CPU, and a graphics card power connector, on a $13.99 PSU!

                                  Conclusion:
Just ordered 5 more! I nope they never get out of stock because for $13.99 they are perfect! Beats any of those shitty PSUs included with inexpensive cases that local computer shops seem to love.
                                  TL;DR: BUY IT!

It looks very similar to the IP-S400CQ2-0. It should have no problems delivering its rating in spec. Don't expect silence, though. I have known those 80mm fanned Power Men to get a little loud under load, especially when they are not 80plus certified.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Do you think with an Ivy Bridge i3/i5, 16GB RAM, and single ST1000DM003 HDD, it will be loud? I will hope not!
It does look similar internally to the one you reviewed.

It won't be silent, but it shouldn't be too bad.
