Hey that ws almost confusing for a while the pg number is almost the same as the part which might be one of these
    http://html.alldatasheet.com/html-pd.../1/L5973D.html

If the consensus is that that is what it is they are here

EDIT Drat there is also a A5973D and a B5973D I dont suppose the first digits are visible to you? They are indicated to be for automotive use but I have not studied the differences

and there's an L5973D which I was linked to by the person who was helping me figure all of this on Reddit

EDIT: selldoor you did mention the L5973D in you first post, sorry didn't notice it.

Are these things easily replaceable? I have this Weller soldering iron http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

if it's the L5973 you need a hot air system because there is a big pad under the chip than acts as a heatsink.

          I have this http://www.harborfreight.com/1500-wa...UwIn0%3D%0D%0A

Or will it be too big and generate too much heat?

Can you snip the legs lift the body then unsolder the feet one at a time?

I don't have anything that small to snip the legs, its very tight. If I press the soldering iron on the body wouldn't it melt the pad under it?

you can desolder the legs by using an iron to melt the solder, then lifting the leg with a needle or a bent safetypin.

if you get all 7 unburned legs up, you *may* get enough heat through the chip but i doubt it because that the whole point of the heat pad under it.
your hot air gun seems too hot also.

what may be possible is to melt the solder by heating the pad on the other side of the board,
or using the iron with a bit of fresh solder on the exposed section of the pad at the end of the chip in the foto.

all this leads to another question though, how are you going to put the new chip on???

There might be pads going to the other side of the board. Those are likely for thermal transfer, however they could be functional in the circuit also. But you probably could heat those up and melt the solder under the chip. It will probably take a lot of heat though, as it was designed to do that :P

Did you ever get this sorted out?

I have a HYPERION 720i NET that looks to have fried the she component. Possible also a 5v linear regulator, and whatever the black rectangle marked 3110-5260.

Looks like graupner was doing the design/manufacture for Hyperion, or vice versa.

Now it looks like the "old" Hyperion has gone full graupner. All previous units appear NLA, with only one new model which looks to be a rebrand.

I'd really like to fix this one as their new model isn't compatible with the rich software suite.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                        by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

I have two Milwaukee 12 amp hours battery packs that have an issue with battery cells very unbalanced these are probably over 4 years old and been heavily used in the past but now get occasionally used heavily and when I went to use the grinder tool the battery lost battery battery power very quickly so I decided to open it up and found some battery cells voltage from 3.6 to 4.1 no wonder the battery charger was not fully charging them 3 out of 4 LEDs were on meaning that it was only 75% charged

So I have put them on the battery testing machine to drain each battery cell down to...
