    Dell E2016HV no power.

Hi, I want to ask about the mosfet value of this power supply. The mosfet is blown. The psu model is ILPI-354 V.A. Need urgently. Thanks.

Pictures of the MOSFET and of the P/S would help with answering your question.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

Probably something like a N-Channel TO-220 full pack 600V something or other. Match something up and stick it in its place. Forgot to mention... inspect the gate drive circuit of that mosfet too... if there is something wrong with it, it will blow the new one.

Oh I see, I already found the broken piece of the mosfet. It wrote JCS4N65MF. Search it online and no hope. I tell my boss, and they told me to stop repair those monitor because they want to scrap it. If I want to replace the mosfet, did I need to search for other mosfet that same with these mosfet datasheet? Thanks for the reply.

Good you found the lid to the MOSFET! All you need to know from JCS4N65MF: The FET here is a 4N65, 4A, 650V. Now do an online search and buy a replacement 4N65 or 4n80 or a 5N80. You need to have at least same spec MOSFET in here, but you can put let’s say a size or two bigger in there. Let’s say you got a 6n80 you can jam that in. But don’t get the idea to replace a 4n60 with a 12n60. It does work as long there is no problem with the PSU. So for testing purposes it’s o.k, but I wouldn’t leave it in there.
Again you don’t need exact the same MOSFET to replace the old one, you just need the same basic configuration…

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
            by PantherDave
            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Dell Optiplex 7490 AIO - red power led after flash

            Hi guys,

This is my first post! 🚀
I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’m learning by trial and error.

I’m currently working on a Dell Optiplex AIO 7490—one of a bunch of AIOs that mysteriously failed to POST just a few days after the warranty expired. The original issue was that the PC worked fine until it was rebooted, after which it got stuck on a black screen (no backlight), with fans spinning at normal speed and a solid white power LED. Forcing it off by holding the power button would just cause it to switch on automatically and get stuck again on...

hey guys, hoping for some pointers to repair an eBay bought "faulty" laptop.

Ill try and give as much info as I can.

            Dell Inspiron 17 (7786) Laptop
            Service Tag: 5J0NHT2
            Bios: 1.9.0

When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.
            Then it started getting weirder!
Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has...

            Dell Inspiron 7506 Silver 2n1 - "HELLCAT 15" - No power
            by LimesKey
Hi everyone, I have an Inspiron 7506 laptop I've had for a few years, and it'd occasionally have a problem where after I'd power it off, it wouldn't turn on again unless I disconnected, drained residual voltage by pressing the power button, and reconnected the battery. It now seems to be occurring every single time I shut down the laptop and attempt to turn it back on again. I have done all the common troubleshooting steps, such as completely disconnecting the battery & CMOS battery and draining the voltage and leaving it for an hour, and I've even replaced the battery. This is definitely...
