    Agree.

I've got a Newton without such a resistor. Without any load resistors except 5VSB, actually. If I use it for testing of random 12V devices (bench testing), the 5V output almost goes to 5.4V. It shuts down in seconds.

With half an amp on that 5V output, all is well.

I have a very similar Mad Dog Multimedia 350W supply, also made by Super Flower.

Ironically, I came across one of these TTGI 350W PSU's, it's a little different but mostly the same. This one is sending out pretty high 3.3V, it's reading 3.63V (even when heavily loaded) So before you use it, I would check the readings on all the rails. Then again, this one does have Fuhjyyu caps so maybe they are going bad and causing issues

I use to have both of the 4-Fan 520W and 450W TTGI Power Supplies. They were awesome!!!

They had metallic blue anodized aluminum cases!

The main caps to watch out for are the 5VSB and 5V rails, as those are under stress, and when both of mine finally fried some caps, it still worked!!! Lost them in a home fire along with the computers they were in.

If it's a 2003, (or close to that) like my True 430, then there's a good chance of there being brown glue that to me, resembles contractors' wood board adhesive.
