I disconnect it from the power supply measure the resistance across the wires and the resistance measures 10K to 14K " Thermocouple generates voltage, thermistor varies its resistance (NTC or PTC), so do you know if it is thermistor or Thermocouple? What does it look like.
Constant current source will vary its output voltage to maintain the current as the load changes its resistance.
