    Replacing a Wall Wart

Let me start by saying thanks in advance for your answers. I've read a fair bit on this subject, but I still feel like I don't understand enough to come to a conclusion on my own.

My question is this, I have a clock/radio that has a 6V DC input on the back, calling for 350mA, 2W. The original power supply was lost. I have two possible replacements, a 6V 500mA, and a 6v 200mA. Will either of these work safely, or should I buy a new wall wart to replace the missing unit?

    Thank you

    Re: Replacing a Wall Wart

A typical magnetic transformer wall wart output only outputs the rated voltage (within a tolerance) when the load current is near or at the rated current.

A 6V, 500mA transformer will work fine, however the output voltage will increase by a small amount. The clock is likely to be completely fine with this as the original supply was likely unregulated.

Great, thank you for explaining it that way. I appreciate your help!

What is the standard model or part number of this 4-pin mini-DIN connector? It's outer diameter is the same approximately 9mm as other mini-DIN plugs, but the pins arre as thick as those found in full size DIN plugs.

9v super basic wall wart issue
          by jayjr1105
This is one of those worthless and time wasting repairs but it's bugging me and I want to figure it out. Simple 9v 1a SMPS wall wart and it's bouncing between 8.2 and 9.4v without load. I've pulled out every single cap and all tested fine. I've replaced the opto and same exact issue. All diodes are testing fine. I'm not sure if the IC can cause this or if the IC had issues you wouldn't get anything at all on output....

Trying to Revive - Eufy Security Wired Wall Light Cam S100 - No Power

This found its way to my workbench this week.

          Wired Wall Light Cam S100

The buyer thought he got a great deal but it turns out it was likely dead and the seller tried to get anything they could for it by passing it off on an unsuspecting buyer.
Rather than tossing it in the bin he gave it to me to play with as he knows how much I love to try to solve problems like these.

The camera portion of this device worked fine when powered via USB but when on the mains it would not work at all.
This reminded me of the eufy floodlight...

Dell Inspiron 15 7567 (LA-D993P) - No power after replacing blown inductor and shorted mosfet advice needed
          by Reintar
First of all, I'd like to mention that I'm a novice when it comes to laptop repair, although I do have some experience with soldering.
One day, my laptop experienced a severe stutter, and after rebooting, it failed to boot into Windows. I decided to disassemble it and found that the PL900 component was blown. Later, I came across a post (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...error%E2%80%99) with the same problem, where...

Replacing SOC SRK08 clean me needed?
          by DeXXter
Hello, so I replaced a soc SRK08 (i3-1115G4) on a hp 14-dq because the 1.8v power supply was shorted and the pch was gone and I installed a SRK05 (i5-1135G7) that I had at hand. And I was wondering if a clean me region is needed after replacing the chip, I usually do this on laptops with separated pch, but with a soc (cpu and pch together) I have no idea. Normally I wouldn't ask this, but I have only the motherboard, no screen nor the adapter, and after I fix this I have to send it to another region so if someone knows about this, some help would be apreciated.

          Note: After doing all...

          Replacing capacitors in Evga PSU
          by competition
I have Evga G2 1300w and I want to replace all the electrolytic capacitors because PSU is already 12+ years old and I want to give it more life before any capacitor does damage. There are no blown capacitors, but I want to protect myself by replacing them with new ones as a precaution. And now comes the main problem. I have 5 pieces of Bulk (I think they are KZE) 16v3300uf with dimensions 10/35/5, but I can't find them in that size, only 12.5/35/5.I have one KY 16v1000uf 8.5/19/3.5, one KY 16v220uf I think it is 6/13/3.5 but it is in holes of pitch 5 I have 4 pieces of KZE 16v2200uf with dimensions...
