    too high voltage!

    My PSU ATX 400W generated out voltage too high. It burned out my HDD with (nearly), 17V(for 12V line) and 7V (for 5V line). I checked all part inside and replaced all some bad caps 1000uF-10V,16V. But nothing change! Voltage 's still too high. Please tell me why (?)

    (Line 3.3V is nornal)

      Check the secondary rectifiers also.

          You can show me whre? I checked parts from line 12V and 5 V only. I think some registers with wrong value make wrong out voltage but I dont find any bad parts.

              replace ALL sencondary caps.
              anything that overloads +5 or excessive ripple/noise affects all the other outputs.
              3.3 is regulated independent of the others.
              after replacing the caps if problem still persists look at the feedback.
              thats the opto between the pri/sec of the transformer.give the regulator chip a sample while isolating hot/cold sides.

                  Howdy everyone! I hope all is well where ever you are!

                  I'm attempting to integrate a couple of LED pods into an automotive reverse lamp circuit. The problem being, while the vehicle is running there is a 8.5v current present on the reverse lamp power wire. Needless to say is that all LED pods and lights dimly illuminate while the 8.5v is present, so the LEDs are always powered on while the vehicle is running. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the voltage changes to 12 volts.

                  I am uncertain how to convert this line into a switched 12v output line for the LED pods....

                  I have some mains toroid transformer220v/12v, and thinking to add a few one-two turns fat coil in parallel, like in picture. Red are working windings, purple (top and bottom) is rails who connect all low voltage windings.

                  Question is, how to connect that device to be as much more efficient in spot welder operation to distribute and pulls currents to all winding equaly, minimalize voltage drop?

                  output on half E-F
                  output on C-B
                  connect A-B and C-D, output on A-F
                  otherwise?...

                  I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                  Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                  I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                  The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                  With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Hello everyone, receive a cordial greeting.

                  I have an ATX 500W power source. Chassis Model: LPJ2-23.

                  It turns out that when measuring the line voltage + 5VSB. After the source is turned on, the voltage gradually increases until it reaches approximately 7.8 vdc.

                  If I leave it connected to the power but turned off, the voltage remains stable at 5.1vdc. approximate

                  I thought I was a capacitor in that sector. Then I measured them with the ESR Raptor and they measured me well,...
