    What about a 7-watt ceramic?

    I noticed in the pics above that the resistors are on the far side, farthest away from the fan; maybe they get no airflow at all right there.

      Thank you for all the suggestions - in this case I've ordered both 120k and 150k 2w resistors as this was the closest I could find to the original items. I am assuming the ceramic ones will have a higher temperature threshold and therefore longer life?
      Fixed so far: GNR TS902W monitor, Sony Game Gear, Philips FCD565, Arcam Alpha 10, Memorex SA 404amp

          That APFC circuit looks way too tiny. Might not be designed properly. I would say just get rid of the APFC circuit. The PSU uses an older half-bridge technology, so it should work fine without it.
