Please help me find a vendor.

    Hi Folks,

This is my first post in here, hope I didn't post in the wrong section.

I'm looking at getting either one of these models, Model 1, Model 2. Please help me find a reseller in the US who stocks them. I have e-mailed the Zippy office in the US but have recieved no response.

    Thanks,

Re: Please help me find a vendor.

Sweet Lord, in the name of all that's Holy, what are the planned system specs. I'm sure some others would like to know.

My Zippy contact is George Lai At buildtoorderservers. georgelai@btostech.com He called Taiwan for me several months ago and was told they would not be USA bound for awhile. They were being installed in builds for Taiwan only, but that was in January of this year. There is no real difference between the "gaming" units and the server units. Black krinkle paint, sleeving and all have a thermally controlled fan.

For your linked model#2. buildtoorderservers.com has the PSM-0660P for $199 go to zippyusa for full spec on it. It does show 12V1@26A, 12V2@20A, combined is 40A...But in testing 12V1 carries 39A. Don't ask why as IDK but did read it. OH! It does have a thermally controlled fan.

Two other sites carry Zippy/Emacs w/o breaking the bank, myaopen.com and servercase.com (excuse me for not linking all of these)

I know nothing of the 6720P.
I have two Zippys here, HG2-6400P & HP2-6460P. The finish is nickel plating, so the "gaming" cases might have it under the black paint.

Have you read this thread? https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1537 Both those units Froogle here (State side) at around $120+ship. The 0056 sure looks to be a winner, with 12V@46A and dual thermally controlled fans.

I'm not trying to move you away from Zippy as they do have Rubycon & UCC (United ChemiCon) on the inside, for the most part. On my two units some of, if not all the smaller caps are CapXon.

We all get the wait to see whats in the pipe line song&dance but there will be some uber-power house PSUs out in the next 2~3 months. The next generation of gaming cards is super power hungry and OCZ has broght out a video card dedicated 5.25" bay power unit. I imagine it will heat up the optical drives and have screamer 60mm fans. The next gaming cards will fall back in power demand...or so I've read.

Keep us informed on what this is about plz. There are others here that can put a finer point on what I've offered.

Re: Please help me find a vendor.

        Mate,

Thanks a lot for the info! I am also looking at the Silverstone Zeus 560W as a temporary solution. I received this e-mail from Jessica Wang of Zippy USA. (She called and offered a quote of $330 for the 850W version i.e PSL-6850P). I did tell her that there is a huge enthusiast market they ought to tap into, but I don't think she was very interested in listening to my spiel

For all who ask, this is what I have planned. Items in red have already been purchased:

        2 x X1900xtx CF
        MSI X1800XL 512Mb-->modded to x1800xt (Great deal on zipzoomfly $200 shipped !!)
        Conroe E6700
        ASUS 965x based board
        2 x 36Gb Raptors
        2 x 250 Gb storage SATA's
        2 x DVD RW
2 x 1Mb OCZ DDR2 (Not yet decided on speed)
Custom dual loop Phase change box (with 3 x 165W TEC's)
        A nice 20.1" LCD
Logisys midtower (on sale at svc $36 shipped)

If I can't find the solid single rail PSU recommended by John Galvanized, I will get the 2U server version of the zippy and mod the case.

          wowee hey big spender

the logisys midtower stands out at that price. got a link? surely such a machine could only be appropriately housed in an akasa eclipse 62 or a lian li.

might as well go for a 975

            Mate,

            I got the logisys here:-
            http://svcompucycle.stores.yahoo.net/cs901bk.html

It is smaller than my Raidmax Scorpio 668. The phase setup has its own box, so I hope this logisys case would suffice.

Sorry, I meant 975x instead of 965x. Looks like ATi won't be supporting crossfire on the 965x.

            PS#
That is the rig I wish to build. I may eventually settle for something a lot more modest i.e E6600, 2 x Raptors (getting them for $40 a pop from a friend) and a single modded x1800xl-->xt.

            Edit*
I am buying the Supermicro 650W PSU (single 12V--> 46A rail). Its going to be benched on a DICE x1900xtx CF setup. Lets see if it hols up or blows up. I really hope Supermicro have a good return policy. Otherwise, I may have to down a few stiff drinks and beat the crap outta my roommate.

The 0056 has dual fans and I don't think there will be any problem loading it up. Plz, take pics and post in the forum thread that I linked above.
tiresias started out with posting about the 0060, Minerva sent me open photos of it's sister the 0056 and you can add some valuable input to that thread for us with your testing.

Look over jonny's testing set-up and methodology http://www.jonnyguru.com/ Look over a couple of his reviews for the cross loadings he has posted.

Sure. Will do. It may take a couple of weeks because this unit will be bounced around among a few forum mates till I get my rig setup.LINK

                  nice case. i like it

lol with your thread. tiresias did much to PR supermicro with his thread. i want one also. i am interested to see how it fairs with crossfire, something it was never intended to do but i am sure it will hold up fine. all these dual rail psus with half the current it is so BS.

where the hell is tiresias these days anyway.......paging Professor Carlo......

Super Nade, I did read your post over at OC Forums.

Tip: Contact jonnyGURU via PM here, anandtech, or, I think he might be registered at OC Forums. He is registered at HardOC forums.
I'll PM you his email. He will give your unit a good and proper test. Do not let your mates play with it. I never would loan a motorcycle out to anybody He is in the Northern part of Florida and I'm sure he will give it what it deserves. He will even most likely give you attribution in the test. Do look over his web site, if you haven't already.

Well, I've sent him an e-mail. Awaiting his response.

It would be nice to get some real-world results from a fully overclocked rig (with all its associated vagaries), that's why I was keen on getting it Crossfired.

Stable/clean voltage at high output is what it's about. jonny uses an O'scope during testing and can pin point ripple/noise in the current

I just PMed him this thread.

I had an hand injury and I've had to make a few visits to the hospital. So, I'll have to wait to get paid before I do anything. My PSU fund went towards medical expenses. Typing this with one hand

                                  Sorry friend.

I used to race BMX and Mt. Bike and got a lot of those (natural reaction to put hands forward during crash.) They are painful.

The PSU has been shipped directly from Supermicro. Vergy good communication from wiredzone.com.

                                        Update #2:

I have the PSU in my hands! It took one bloody week to get here...grrr... However, there seems to be a minor hitch. I don't have the correct screwdriver to open it up. I tried a few different ones, but it looks like I may strip the screw-heads. Case looks pretty bare, none of the bling-bling BS. Pics to follow after I get off work.

If I can't find the right tools to open it, JonnyGURU will have to do the honors. I will ship it off to him first thing tomorrow morning.

From the fan slot, I can see a big brown cap and a small green cap. No names are visible. There is some disgusting looking white goo on the caps.

Looks like the one in here:-

Where to find a very small fpc connector 0.3mm between 2 pins ?

Hello, I search this connector (oxydated).
It's a fpc zif low profile connector. It come from camera sensor, it is very small : 0.3mm between 2 pins.
I ordered 2 from Aliexpress called « 0.3mm pitch » but one was 0.5mm between 2 pins and the other 0.6mm. In fact « 0.3mm pitch » seams to be the pad width and not the distance between 2 pins.
I can't find it. The other websites like mouser dont show the datasheet, and I can't check if it is 0.3mm between 2 pins ?

Do you know how to find this connector please ? What is the exact name for find it ?

Sentey ATX PSU - ERP650-PS - Trying to find out the right Standby IC
                                          by temyth
Greetings! I have this ERP650-PS atx power supply, it is a relatively simple psu, the primary has a driver IC that controls the two main mosfets (two 20n60S5), together with a Classic Standby circuit with a PWM IC (not a FET like the VIper22A) , relatively similar to the SDC606P.

The whole point is that I got this power supply years ago when I had no knowledge, apparently the PWM IC was burned because someone turned the power supply on with the switch at 110v in a 220v network (classic error). Important detail: the power supply at the time came without the primary capacitors.

I am trying to find this part on the logic board. See pictures below. It might be CR812, not sure. Any help would be appreciated. And where could I find the part?
