    Keerda ATX-2000B alias P4-500W 500 watt psu

I looked at the label and thought wow, 500 watts. I picked it up, and it was so light weight, I thought - is anything inside??

So look at the pictures.....what do you think?

Here is what I found inside:

    NO line filter
No bridge diode, two 1N5408 diodes and two RL207 diodes

Two YIXIANG 470 uF/200 volt main capacitors

Two TT2146 switching transistors TO220 case

2N60 transistor for two transistor 5vsb circuit

    AZ7500BP PWM chip

    AZ339P supervisory chip

Output diode 5 volt rail MOSPEC S20C40C

Output diode 12 volt rail STPR16 20xxxCT (x indicates marking rubbed off)

    Output diode 3.3 volt rail PEC516 SB1640CT

    Output capacitors all “BH” brand

    One 1000 uF/16 volt 10 mm

    Two 2200 uF/10 volt 10 mm

    One 1000 uF/10 volt 10 mm

All other capacitors less than 1000 uF

    NO coils in output filters

By the way, did you notice the UL certification number? How did this power supply get into this country???

No PCB space for the output coils? Stick it in a fire and watch the caps go
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Main PC: Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz, Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP, 8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600, 240GB Intel 335 Series SSD, 750GB WD HDD, Sony Optiarc DVD RW, Palit nVidia GTX660 Ti, CoolerMaster N200 Case, Delta DPS-600MB 600W PSU, Hauppauge TV Tuner, Windows 7 Home Premium

    Office PC: HP ProLiant ML150 G3, 2x Xeon E5335 2GHz, 4GB DDR2 RAM, 120GB Intel 530 SSD, 2x 250GB HDD, 2x 450GB 15K SAS HDD in RAID 1, 1x 2TB HDD, nVidia 8400GS, Delta DPS-650BB 650W PSU, Windows 7 Pro

Look closer - i think i've spotted it. Once again the classic 494/339 platform. And just look at that proud label: POWER SUPPLY. It doesn't even say it's for a computer! And maybe it would be better that way.

Now that you mention it, I can see spaces for coils on the 3.3v and 5vsb rails, but not for the 5v and 12v rails

Still more substantial than this one although not by much: (copied from my post in "Power supply build quality pictorial. part 2")

I think they accidently added a 0 to the end of the wattage rating 42W seems more realistic.

Overhead Shot. 330uf 200v canicon main filter caps. Tiny (all less than 1000uf) micon caps on the secondary. Undersized heat sinks, under sized transformers, super group regulation, missing components, no input filtering, 4 diodes for the bridge rectifier, etc. OEMed by Yuelin.

And a shot of the secondary or lack thereof.

TT2146 is good for 7A. So the primary is overspec'd.

The "ATX-2000B" suggests a 200W design and that's exactly what the secondary silicon is built to:

            STPR1620CT - 8A @12V = 96W
            S20C40C - 10A @5V = 50W
            SB1640CT - 16A @3.3V = 52.8W

(Another few watts for 5VSB and -12 maybe.)

Once again the classic 494/339 platform.
Exactly. AZ7500BP looks like a direct clone of the TL494.

Re: Keerda ATX-2000B alias P4-500W 500 watt psu

The Yeulin has the same size and type heat sinks, but has a larger output diode for the 5 volt rail. They both seem to be "overrated". I think I will trade this one for a Bestec 12E. At least it has some potential!

Has anyone seen any of the yixiang brand input caps? Or the BH brand caps in the output filters? I have never seen these brands.

BH output caps are very common in cheap PSUs around here. It stands for Bad, Honestly.

Ahh, our good friend keerda electronics. Glad to see they're OEM'ing out to somebody other than logisys, but not that anyone can tell who this is by the very descriptive label.
