I've seen a few members saying that megapax/hairong Power supplies won't blow up when overloaded, but just go out without a bang - a lot like Oklahoma Wolf's unit did in the JG bargain basement round up. However, I just stuck a Hairong ATX-430WA unit on the load tester and at just over 300W - Ka-BOOM. I think they must have used hairong switching transistorsfor a 430 Watter
Seen it before in power supplies using TO-220 switching transistors, they're not tight enough against the heatsink which makes them run very hot, the heat melts the plastic insulating washer which makes them separate further from the heatsink, and they go boom.
