For 2 cents more you can upgrade by 5 amps.

UGH!
Those are the one's I was testing right? I just realized I read them back wards, the contact points, I'll redo it in the morning!
Again Thank you Joshnz!Last edited by Philly Cheese Steak; 08-10-2011, 11:18 PM.Leave a comment:

may need to remove the transistors to get better results.Leave a comment:

Re: Need help BFG/GR650WGSPSU
Josh,
Yes the fuse reads 0, the Varister reads 3.2 Ohms.
On the 200Ω range put red probe where red circle is and black probe on the black circle hold it there for a while let me know the results.
On the white rectangles measure between
1 (red probe) 2(black probe)
2 (red probe) 1(black probe)
2 (red probe) 3(black probe)
3 (red probe) 2(black probe)

Re: Need help BFG/GR650WGSPSU
Hi I have marked points of interest.
The fuse marked in yellow will be blown can be verified with you meter set to 200 Ω should read less than 1Ω
.
The varister marked in cyan should read less than 20Ω.
On the 200Ω range put red probe where red circle is and black probe on the black circle hold it there for a while let me know the results.
On the white rectangles measure between
1 (red probe) 2(black probe)
2 (red probe) 1(black probe)
2 (red probe) 3(black probe)
3 (red probe) 2(black probe)
1 (red probe) 3(black probe)
3 (red probe) 1(black probe)
4 (red probe) 5(black probe)
5 (red probe) 4(black probe)
6 (red probe) 5(black probe)
5 (red probe) 6(black probe)
6 (red probe) 4(black probe)
4 (red probe) 6(black probe)
let me know for each or those combinations.Leave a comment:

Re: Need help BFG/GR650WGSPSU
So I'm assuming here that cause its marked with "1006" that it is 10A 600V and that KBU is the manufacturer? As on its face it has "KBU 1006", I was searching Flee bay for a replacement it seems all the number correspond to the Amps and the voltage?
Examples
A. GBU 406=4A 600V
B. KBP 206=2A 600V
C. KBJ 2510=25A 1000V
Also hard to find a 10A 600V on Flee bay, if anyone would suggest? I will check this site, again Thank you for any and all help.Leave a comment:

Re: Need help BFG/GR650WGSPSU
It's a older Topower built BFG, it will do 500W barely in spec at room temp, so unless you are running a real high end computer it should do fine.Leave a comment:

Re: Need help BFG/GR650WGSPSU
Thank you Joshnz!
I got one, but have to repair it as it sat with the battery in it so long the connectors are corroded. So I'll have to go by Radio snack to get a battery adapter. I got a blue point multimeter from about ten years ago, its a Fluke wanna be.
Keep the info coming.......... I'll get the multi up and running by tomorrow.Leave a comment:

The part that has failed is called a bridge rectifier, It may have been damaged from many thing or just failed.
You will need a multimeterLeave a comment:

Need help BFG/GR650WGSPSU
Hello all!
First off I'm a total noob, so please assume I don't know the terms of stuff you post. As I probably will not..... Anyway I bought this unit of of Flee bay for a friends computer I'm building, so if its not worth fixing just say so. I'd like to fix it and use it in a mild build for mostly internet cruising.
That said I kinda know how to use a meter, I got a blue point(fluke wanna be) but the battery was in it so long the terminals are corroded. And I may have to splice in a new connection from radio snack. I opened this unit up, first thing I noticed was it was full of dust bunnies. Then flipped it over and found burnt traces underneath it, the peace that had the burns is removed already but I know that simply slapping a new one in is not all that I need to do with it.
A. I don't even know this parts name
B. How do I go about testing it
C. Again Don't assume I know anything, but I'm very teachable!!!
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!Tags: None

by slimmy182Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).
I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).
Looking on google I found this:... -
by bogosortHello,
I am trying to diagnose a Macbook air m1 battery board that looks like it has liquid damage.
However, I cannot correctly get resistance readings because the board is always powered by the battery.
The battery icon had an X icon and was not recognized by the laptop. After removing corroded capacitors, the laptop cannot even boot with the battery plugged into the logic board.

Do you guys have an idea of what I could do?... -
by yuuki47Hi all...
I have a Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3. It mostly works but it has a few problems. At random times through the day, I get constant notifications from Realtek's Audio Panel that the rear jack has been connected/disconnected. It spams me for a few minutes and then stops.
Second weird issue is the integrated graphics have red artifacts. I've seen those in boards with bad caps, so I concluded that the caps must be bad... especially because the board has signs of corrosion everywhere.
But upon closer inspection, this appears to be environmental corrosion... -
by mferna14Hi good Friends., today working on a Macbook Pro A2289, Logic board 820-01978-A. The history was liquid spill, Cleaned & replaced all corroded components & now the logic board shows 20v & .01amp on the meter. Not taking in any amps. Upon trouble shooting I get the required stable voltages 5V, PP3V3_G3H 3.3V but no PP3V3_S5. Checked the schematic, assume that this is generated from U7800. Checked all the Input/Output voltages on this chip. All is fine, except PP3V3_S5 is missing. Resistance from GND to PP3V3_S5 is 146 Kohms. First I need to make sure whether PP3V3_S5 is generated from...

by abajorI'm trying to get this A1707 macbook working. There was some liquid damage under U3905 and corrosion around the Tantalum capacitors C3502 C3504.
Removing the U3905 (PN66VEU3-A101D004) shows that the pad is somewhat damaged. I'm not reading continuity between pin 21 and the filter cap C3919.
Researching that part shows that its an NFC chip, which makes me go huhhh? And Why??? Why does a macbook even have and NFC chip, and if I just leave it out will it cause issues?
If I can get away with just replacing the tantalum caps and ignoring the NFC chip that would be... - Loading...
