Hello,
I am trying to repair a laptop and I found the chip in a schematics.
However, I cannot find anything when trying to search for SYV836.
Can anyone help me find this chip so I can buy it, please?
Thank you

A1398 15” 2013 short when screen plugged in
Hello,
I have a MacBook Pro 15” A1398 2013 that has no backlight, but I see an image when putting light through the logo. I noticed that when the screen is plugged in, I get a 300 ohms short (see image).
When unplugged, the short is gone.
Any idea?1 Photo

Thank you for confirming. Could it be that the MAIN motherboard should be supplying another voltage, other than the 12v? I checked everywhere else on the disk drive board and all I can find is the same 12v at its source...

Sorry for the double post, but I’d like to add that the shorted component that I removed was there (see photo). Could it be the reason it is not working? I thought it was only a capacitor and that it could work without replacing it. Can anyone confirm the component that was in this location?1 Photo

It does look like A8=XXX, hard to tell
I am only getting the 12V
Here are the diode readings.1 Photo

Thank you. Based on the data sheet you provided, it implies that there's 12v on the EN pin only. This seems strange. Also, the ground doesn't seem to be at the same place on the board vs the data sheet. I'll have to investigate further

Is it possible that the component (the one with 5 pins) is bad? If so, anyone can identify it? It says A8-P1P on top of it....1 Photo

PS5 disk drive not working
Hello,
I am trying to diagnose a PS5’s disk drive that is not working. At first, I found a shorted capacitor. However, after removing it, I cannot find any other short but it still is non working. I measured the voltage at this place (see photo) but there’s only 12.11v at one pin. Other pins all show varying voltage between 0 and 50mV. (Constantly changing)
Any idea?1 Photo

I managed to find out that it is probably a step- down DC/DC regulator by comparing the ground pins and voltage pins. Would it be worth it to try and fix this motherboard since this looks very close to the gpu?

Please see attached photos.
It looks like it is written S2EGD on it.
Thank you!...

What is this component marked G75LL on it? (U15) from a KW-M56BT audio system
Hello,
This audio system does not turn on and I managed to see that this component heats up when powered.
Anyone knows what this component is?

M1 Macbook Air 2337 not booting after changing battery
Hello,
There was a problem with the original battery board so I had to replace it.
However, the new battery causes the laptop to not boot. The USB-C amp meter shows 5v 0.25a, then jumps to 20v 0.03a and immediately cycles when the battery is plugged in. The laptop boots fine with the battery disconnected.
Any idea?
Thank youLast edited by bogosort; 12-18-2023, 12:38 PM.

Corroded 820-01654-a (M1 air battery board)
Hello,
I am trying to diagnose a Macbook air m1 battery board that looks like it has liquid damage.
However, I cannot correctly get resistance readings because the board is always powered by the battery.
The battery icon had an X icon and was not recognized by the laptop. After removing corroded capacitors, the laptop cannot even boot with the battery plugged into the logic board.
(Photo attached)
Do you guys have an idea of what I could do?...
