    Advice regarding Antec Truepower 430 recap

    I'm in the process of recapping my first and also last Antec PSU, a Truepower 430. The replacements, Samxon RS, for the six Fuhjyyu secondaries are already ordered. The unit is however "blessed" with two Fuhjyyu LH 200V 470uF primaries as well. Do they stay, or do they go?
    If they go, I can source locally as replacement for them Rubycon MXC. They have the correct physical dimensions to fit, and are rated for 1450 mA ripple. The Fuhjyyu's rating, according to their spec sheet is 1620 mA, but as they have a smaller can size than standard, 25x30mm, that figure could be overrated. Is the choice acceptable?
    The two 5VSB caps close to the exhaust fan are TEAPO's. I was thinking of leaving them for now.
    Any input is welcome.

      replace every single Fuhjhhyuhuh.. cap. even the primary ones.
      and don't forget about the tiny ones in between the heatsinks.

      fuhjyyu is SO crappy that even the primaries fail/bulge, given enough time..

          I confirm that.

          I would be worried about the Teapo caps. Sure, they are better than fuhjyyu, yet these antecs get really hot cause they are made to be silent... I always do a fan mod so that the fan moves some air just to be safe

              OK, all Fuhjyyu's go, including the primaries. Any opinions as to the choice of Rubycon MXC to replace them?
              The TEAPO's are gone as well.

                  Hello,

                  I have an Antec TruePower 380p PSU that I had repurposed from a Sonata case. It had been working fine on a server in the loft using the Wake-on-LAN feature regularly until a couple of recent power outages where the power became very unstable - going on/off very quickly. There is now no output whatsoever from the PSU & fan isn't working. There was a pop when I attempted to turn it on.

                  Upon examination, it appears that voltage isn't getting very far so I believe the immediate issue is within the first stage. There is a green component that I am not familiar...

                  ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap

                  Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
                  This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

                  So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:

                  I've been seeing a lot of cheap-looking (but not always so cheap) no-name AGP video cards on eBay for a while. They started popping up quite a bit when the market for AGP cards became more alive all of a sudden due to interest in “retro” PCs. One thing that struck me about these cheapo cards is that they almost always seem to come with garbage caps - including the abominable Sacon FZ. That aside, though, I've been wondering about the rest of the quality (or lack of?) on these cards. So I decided to satisfy my curiosity yet again.

                  Hi guys,

                  I’m looking for someone in the Northeast to do a full electrolytic capacitor recap on a working Dell Dimension XPS T450 motherboard (it's an Intel 440BX, Slot 1). The board runs mostly fine but is beginning to freeze after warm reboots (turns back on for 30 secs or so and then freezes up but is perfectly fine after 12 hr cool down).

                  I’d be sending just the bare motherboard (CPU, cards, bracket, battery all removed). I’m located in Chadds Ford, PA and happy to ship within the US.

                  Looking for someone experienced with older PC boards who uses...
