Thanks guys , I'm going to see if I have a 9vac 6w wall transformer and tie that into the board , the transformer and shipping out of the states is worth more than the clock radioComment

Re: Emerson clock radio transformer
I tore into the transformer and can not find a thermal fuse. I have a ST3591C-13SEN transformer with 2 secondary wires, the one on Ebay is ST391C-13DN with 3 wire secondary. Hence my thought 9vac.Comment

ive got a modern digital clock radio approx 15yrs old
my question is how long can a clock radio or a simple radio last ss farcas operating hours?
since elec components have limited hour lifecspan i would imagine the radio or clock radio would eventually fail.
the reason i ask is because i have my clock radio on radio function 24/7 for the past 7 years and its still working fine....i leave the radio on ..never turn off past 7years...thats approx 60000 hours
it uses very little power just a few watts i would imagine that may have something... -

Right now, the radio sounds awful, has about 5V DC at the speaker terminals, and the alarm time setting doesn't work. But I'm not asking how to fix these problems.
Instead, here's what's been bugging me so far:

by ClockChipI came across this sticker recently:
(It's from a 1980s GE clock radio - the model number is at the bottom left.)
I worked out the top pictogramme (indicating a 12/24 hour facility) and bottom pictogramme (120v or 220v mains power) fairly quickly. But the middle pictogramme...ah. That one left me baffled for a time.
(I won't say how long, exactly, because it would be too embarrassing.)
Eventually, it dawned upon me that this was a pictogramme to indicate a 9-volt battery backup facility.
My question is: has anyone... -
