Caps for Samsung Plasma Power Supply

I have a 50" Samsung Plasma (HPT5064X/XAA) which is experiencing the same clicking on/off problem that is discussed all over the web. Most of the tutorials on how to fix this issue by replacing the caps are all about LCDs, so when I opened up the back and looked at the power supply board, it is very different.

I have no experience with this stuff at all, only a little soldering experience, but enough to give this a shot myself, figuring I have nothing to lose as my unit is out of warranty, and the next most common fix is to replace the whole power supply board.

I replaced 2 KMG 10V 2200uf, and that didn't do the trick. I looked further and found one 820UF 100V cap that does look slightly bulged, so I'd like to replace it, however, I figured as I'm ordering this one, I might as well just order replacements for the rest on the board at the same time, hoping that one of them may be the culprit it replacing this bulging one does not work.

However, I'm pretty confused as to what type to buy. I lined up a short list at digikey by searching for each caps voltage and uf. But I do not understand the difference between HE, NHG, FC, FM, EB. Here is what I have lined up to order, but I get the sense that some of these will not be right.

    1 1 493-1686-ND CAP 820UF 100V ELECT HE RADIAL
    2 2 P5544-ND CAP 1000UF 25V ELECT NHG RADIAL
    3 1 P10323-ND CAP 100UF 50V ELECT FC RADIAL
    4 2 P12383-ND CAP 220UF 25V ELECT FM RADIAL
    5 2 P10301-ND CAP 470UF 35V ELECT FC RADIAL
    6 4 P13126-ND CAP 1000UF 35V ELECT EB RADIAL

All the caps I'm looking for are radial and pretty much look the same, just in different sizes. They are all in this shape: (picture taken from a thread in your FAQ)

I did search around on here a bit, and I looked at the FAQ, but didn't find the answer. I'm aware that this is probably a very basic question, so if someone can point me in the right direction I would be very thankful for your help.

    Enjoy the day.

Re: Caps for Samsung Plasma Power Supply

Panasonic FC is good for this kind of application, I had recap tons of LCD monitors with this series and still running great.

PCBONEZ talks about how to choose the correct "series" (those letters) at

Panasonic FM or FC will do fine. Just make sure you have the proper measurements (diameter and height).

Also be very careful with the 820UF 100V. It could carry very nasty voltage. You should discharge this cap first before working with it.

In fact, plasmas carry very high voltages. Be careful all around the set.

Samsung Plasma TV Power Supply Issue
        by lp20th
I have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

Samsung BN44-00262A H37F1-9SS power supply help finding blown value components!
        by cheeky2
This Samsung combined power supply and inverter was replaced a while ago from a Samsung 37inch LE37B530P7W TV. However I would like to repair this one.
I have replaced the Mosfets Q1820 and Q1821 ( FDPF7N50U) which were both blown and the fuse FM802S. The schematic for this power supply that is attached doesn't relate to this power supply as the driving transistors and diodes are D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 are nowhere on the schematic!
Does anyone know what the components for D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 should be? I ask as I did change the Mosfets...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
