What's the chip you desoldered !!
i see at the picture that UC2 is desoldered , and this one must be 32 mega : W25R256JVEIN...
that's our chip with a bios pwd....the one you post it at post #426 is 16 megaComment

I have come here with a rather specific question. I was given a Dell Latitude 7420 laptop with a busted screen, and wanted to see if I could refurbish it into my daily driver. I wanted to experiment and see if a 2-in-1 display would work as the chassis of the laptop and 2-in-1 7420 looked identical. I threw in the display and my hypothesis was correct, however, I was greeted with a locked BIOS and since I didn't know the password, I figured I'd try to unlock it somehow. I need help removing/unlocking the BIOS Service Tag password on my Dell Latitude 5520 laptop.
Problem details:
* Model: Dell Latitude 5520.
* Board ID (from BIOS file): TGL MB 8L 19819-1 (Southpeak15).
* Required Password Code: 3FE2 (BIOS Service Tag Lockout Code).
* Service Tag: (HMHJQ93)
* BIOS Status: I successfully modded the BIOS file and created FINAL_CLEANED_ME.bin (32MB) with a clean ME region (CSME 15.0), because the original dump was corrupt.

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate... -
Dell latitude 5580, motherboard cdp 80 la-e151p
3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"
