I have installed another bios from an earlier post and the laptop display now works however,

The battery charging is a little intermittant, I never had issues with the battery / charging until I changed out the bios.

Is someone able to repair my original bios please?
    Both files attached.

    Thank you

Your laptop is ThinkBook 14 Gen2 ITL not ThinkBook 14s Yoga ITL, even if board number is the same the BIOS is different for the Yoga model
Post 132 is the correct BIOS for your laptop, hoaca388 extracted it from Lenovo website

You can try post 124 or 125, it's an earlier BIOS version, that will change your S/N if it works

The W25Q80DV is likely USB-C PD controller firmware, if laptop gets 20V on USB-C meter it's fine

Make sure you haven't soldered the BIOS chip the wrong way, if it really got shorted, replace it with a new one (or one from a donor board with same specs) programmed with your BIOS backup
You can use a W25Q128JV as a replacement

Anything else we have to continue the discussion on the Troubleshooting laptops section

Check that, unfortunately it looks ok... I have picture form before and after - the both looks the same.
It looks like I've accidentally damaged something else on the board 😥
When I connect charger the IC is getting hot (checked with thermal camera) not sure if anything else can be done.

Maybe you accidentally moved a resistor near the 16MB BIOS chip when desoldering/soldering it, check with microscope
There's 2 BIOS chips by the way, one 8MB and the one you read 16MB, the full BIOS is split between the two chips, 8MB contains the ME region, 16MB contains the main BIOS code

Thank you for that m1ch43lzm but I was unable to test it... acter resoldering a bios (without any changes) it won't start now...
Is it possible that I "cooked" chip and now it doesn't work? when on the board and power on it is getting 3.2V but the power led is on for 2-3 secs then it is turning off and on again in the loop.
    So annoying!

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
    by Wahaz
    Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

Summary of BIOS Whitelist Removal Problem

    Problem:
I am attempting to remove the WWAN card whitelist from my Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
    Initial Findings:
    • My current BIOS version is N1KET58W (1.45).
    • I have a CH341A programmer and have successfully created two full backups of my BIOS.
    • I have the ability to use command-line tools on a Linux machine.
    Troubleshooting Steps & Conclusions:
    • I attempted to use several automated and manual patching methods on my N1KET58W (1.45) BIOS, including using hex strings. These attempts all failed.
    • I concluded that the

Lenovo Thinkbook 16P G2 ACH - BIOS Serial number missing
    by TecnicaNTT
    Hi all,

I got a Lenovo Thinkbook 16P G2 ACH on the bench with a botched BIOS (somehow my client blanked it). I restored the laptop and got it up and running with original BIOS from Lenovo Support website.
My problem is now that the machine details are missing in the BIOS (Serial Number, MTM, etc.)
I tried to write the details with the Lenovo Uone Tool but had now luck. It is giving me an error: "ERROR: Locate protocol with LenovoEeprom, Status=[e]. EEPROM fail when reading or writing data."
I am now asking here for help if anyone knows how to do this in...

Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 Desktop - Corrupt BIOS
    by grimacelord
    Hello there.

I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.

    History:

    1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.

I searched for this error online and discovered...
