Hello, Admin. My laptop model is Maibenben Jingang T6. It's a Chinese hodgepodge, but the motherboard costs GK5CN6X REV. 1.1. I managed to clean the me region. if anyone needs it, I used Intel CSME SYSTEM TOOLS v12 r9 and installed Visual C++Redistributable Runtimes 2005-2022Attached FilesComment

Hi all!! Thanks in advance for you support. I'm repairing these laptop, first it didn't boot but at least the RGB keyboard light up and some leds also. I make a bakup of the EC and the BIOS, to try another bios, but now it dont do anyhing, any led, with backup bios & ec neither... ;-( Is for that reason, i searrch an EC and BIOs good fles to reprogram it by the Ch341a programmer.

Hi all, I hope everyone is well! 😉 I've not been on fir a while, but I've started doing some repairs in my spare time again and I'm looking to refresh my knowledge of bios and flashing etc. When I used to do it there was one bios chip, and that was it, but now there are multiple chips on the boards, and I've no idea why, or what the difference between them is?? 😵💫 so if anyone could give a brief refresher I'd really appreciate it! 🙏 🥹
Anyway, I have a gaming laptop GK5CN6ZGK, PC Specialist, which wont power on, light comes on then back off again! Ive done all the normal checks, reset bios, reseated ram, tried different ram, checked board under microscope for burnt/discoloured components etc, I've had multimeter on it and it seems all power rails are present and as yet I've found no shorts? I've disconnected everything from the mobo, including the power button board, leaving just the fans plugged in, then powered it up by shorting the pins on power board connecter, same thing happened, so I'm a bit stumped tbh, I know it could be a cpu, or gpu issue, as its quite common in gaming laptops, but as I said, I can't find any shorts. I've also tried 3 different power supplies, so it's not that either! I'm thinking ots either Chipstead, super IO, or bios, so I'm gonna do the easiest first and flash the bios, and cross my fingers, toes and bum cheeks! 😁 anyway, as you can see in the pics, there is 2 potential bios chips on this board, which I'm guessing both probably are, but I've no idea about these new bios setups, as stated above, so any help would really be appreciated guts, as I'm really stumped now!
Thanks in advance guys, as you've always been a massive help in the past! 😉👍🤟Comment

Hi Woody78 The winbond is the BIOS chip and the other is the EC BIOS chip. The first is about 16Mb bios, and the EC is only 256KB.I'm looking for these bios. I recommend you, first of all, made a backup of these bios with Ch341a Programmer for example. After that, you can try with the file in post #4.Comment

OK mate, thx again. In my case I dont think it was my bios anyway, the super IO chip has gone, so unless I can get a doner board, its toast. Even with a doner board, it might not just be the IO chip, something probably caused it to go! 😔Comment

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by traxformaniaHello,
I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).
But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.
I'm trying to reset my bios without success.
I tried :
-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries... -
by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
- I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
- I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
- I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this

by David GeeHello,
I am currently working on recovering my HP Laptop (Model: 17-cn0023dx) after a BIOS corruption issue. The laptop is stuck in a no-boot state, and the Caps Lock light is blinking with a 3.2 code (3 long, 2 short), which according to HP documentation indicates a BIOS corruption failure.
I have prepared a USB stick using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, but I confirmed that it does not include a BIOS recovery image for Crisis Recovery. I also attempted to extract the BIOS file from the spXXXXX BIOS update package provided on the HP Support site, but that update only provides...-
