Hi Stefan, I was finally succesfull yesterday and experienced something weird but maybe normal. I disassembled the Laptop to reach the 16MB IC on the backside, flashed the unlocked BIOS that I had already and dumped again. However the dumped file still had a password in spite of the unlocked version I had flashed before. Maybe it was my mistake because I didn't blank the IC before I flashed, so I tried that and after everything was blank I could finally flash the unlocked File and double check that it worked. So I learned that its mandatory to wipe the old version at first. Anyways. I also flashed your File to the main IC and now there is no password anymore but a Warning. "There is a problem with the Endpoint Security Controller on this device. Please ask HP for maintenance" Do you have any idea what I can do here? Is it possible to install a new HP Bios in the official way? Thank you until here

Weird...if you remove only the password from EC the Endpoint Security Controller error must not pop up because the DMI data in both chips are the same...
Write this main BIOS and enter this DMI information:

Hello,
I have an EliteBook 850 G7 with password lock.
Unfortunately I currently only have an adapter for the WSON 8x6 W25Q256JVEN 32MB chip, but not for the WSON 6x5 W25Q128JVPQ 16MB chip.
Is it possible to remove the password by only programming the 32MB chip like it was possible on an EliteBook 850 G8 with the instructions from the "840-G8-Patch.txt" somewhere else in this forum? The instructions from that file does not work in the G7.
I'd prefer instructions how to patch the BIOS file myself, but can also upload this 32MB file.
Thank you in advance!Comment

Hi all,
I have a HP EliteBook G7 with Bios locked.
I've used the RCUnlocker on the 16MB chip, but the password is still there.
I've read the 32MB chip as well, but the RCUnlocker is not recognizing as being the right chip.
Please help to unlock

Program only this attached dump, the other (32Mb) leave it as is.

In the end, the RCUnlocker is not supporting this model? What is the workaround?

Thanks Stefan, it worked eventually, but after writing the chip the verify step was failing "STATUS REG ERROR at 0001 Buffer Value : 0x02 --- IC value : 0x3F" using T48 programmer. The CH341 didn't highlighted any error so I've put the chip back to MB and seems no issues.
In the end, the RCUnlocker is not supporting this model? What is the workaround?

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by NopslideHello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.
My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).
Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....-

by outsiderHello
I removed the BIOS password thanks to the help of one of the friends of this forum.
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...61#post3637661
The batch from which the password was removed works correctly but... after some time, the BIOS password is set again, I reprogrammed the batch with the removed password, it's ok, there is no password, I set my password, ok, I can enter the BIOS with my password but...-
