Clear vss2 store of bios file.

Dear all,
Which chip should be read to remove the BIOS password?
On my HP 850 G7 I have :
- 1 Winbound W25Q80DV at the back of the motherboard
- 1 MXIC MX25L12872F at the back of the motherboard
- 1 Winbound W25Q256JV at the front of the motherboard

Hi,
I read the chip and used RCUnlocker.
It wiped out an 'NvramActiveRegn' section of about 2075 bytes in the bin file at offset 0x37000.
However, it was not able to detect the device type/name/serial...
Is that still OK? Should I resolder the chip back?

The CapsLock key flashes 7 times then nothing.

I flashed the BIOS chip and not connected the CMOS battery and laptop battery back.
1. connected ac adapter
2. keyboard board light on after 20 seconds
3. screen flashed, cpu fan run fast about 20 seconds
4. power shutdown (auto), about 30 seconds
5. power on and cpu fan run fast about 40 seconds
6. restart, HP logo appear
7. screes show BIOS password required. same before.
any more help? I guess EC need some modified.Comment

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,... -

Hello everyone,
I am attempting a repair on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e that is currently stuck at boot with the error: "0275 error CMS" even after setup new bios battery and will not allow me to enter the BIOS/Setup.
This is a critical issue that I believe requires flashing the BIOS chip directly using a programmer (e.g., CH341A/RT809H), as standard software updates or resets are not possible.

Hello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.
My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).
Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set.... -

BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....
