Asus ET2702I Bios Rev 1.3 BIOS request

Hi. Have an all-in-one Asus ET2702I that will not power on. The pushbutton is active low and can follow (using boardview file - no schematic available?) - the PB trace. See it go from HIGH to LOW with a button press. But the +12V mosfet does not turn on.

MOSFET in question is @ PQ8906. If we GROUND the GATE on PQ8906, the +12V rail is passed through -> fan starts to spin.

However, the ASUS MONITOR portion of this unit continues to state "NO VIDEO".

Suspecting that the BIOS may be corrupt as the owner was hot swapping the external adapter to get the unit to turn on.

Would someone have a dump of this BIOS or can we download an image from ASUS and it will be the same ?

Believe the FLASH memory device for this logic board Rev 1.3 is @ MEU1.

Thanks for any help / suggestions to repair this unit.

Post the bios backup, and a picture of any white/green stickers on the ram slot with a barcode on .

      Thanks. Here you go.

Given that the GATE of mosfet PQ8907 has no signal with the ON / OFF button being pressed - would it be logical to reflash the multiple devices onboard to repair this logic board ?

Found all 3 of the flash devices.

      Thanks again.

Thanks SMDFlea. Need to locate my programmer - actually have not yet used the one we purchased (CH341A based). Will do this on Monday. Many thanks.

              Hi @SMDFlea. Found my programmer

Is it ok to use the BOTTOM side SMD pads to dump / program the orginal SOIC device(s) ?

I don`t know as i don`t have the CH341A black PCB versio, mine are the older ones, green and blue, the pads are on the top but i always use adapters. Just check that the pins are going to the spi 25

Thanks. Finally was able to dump it. Had to modify this BLACK PCB to support +3v3 flash devices. As a default, it is 5V only and can fry the device. Google is my friend

                  Dump of the MACRONIX MX25L12873F

                  Welcome your feedback.

Hi everybody and especially hello SMDFlea,

my ET2702I (Board Rev. 1.4, not like this 1.3, 16MB flash chip is a 25Q128FV) suffers from the same problem. Is it enough to replace the "PT1270691800" and "BCEE7B19AB44" with my respective identifiers in the cleaned 16MB file and flash it onto my system or is there more to edit?

                      Thanks for considering to help

With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
                        by grimacelord
                        Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...

                        ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
                        by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                        Some issues
                        A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                        Things I tried

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

                        Hi there,

I know there is somebody who can tell me what is happening with my laptop. For start, it is an asus vivobook s510ua with an asustek x510ua motherboard with an intel i5 7200u cpu and 16gb ram.. i have a screenshot from speccy before strange things started.. as you can see the laptop type and bios version x510ua.302.I don’t manually update the bios because i don’t like to having a bricked bios, i know what troubles that gives..

I did a fresh win 11 install, and after the automatic updates, windows rebooted and automatically started asus ez flash.....
