The device stays with the caps lock on and the charger LED flashing. It doesn't turn on. What do you think could have happened?Leave a comment:

Hi friends, I'm having a problem. I've locked the BIOS with a code security, and I can't get it.
I already tried flashing it by modifying the BIOS, but something must have gone wrong, and it didn't work.
I hope you can help me; I don't know what else to do.
I'd be very grateful.

Did you try using RCUnlocker on the 16MB chip ? https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...locker?t=98539
no i didn't use that tool but i did try to modify the IS ship twice, one of those modification did nothing but the second time the modification made the laptop unbootable ( and i modified it the same way i would do with other models like Hp 840 G8 ) but i know for a fact that this specific model ( hp 840 g5 ) is not one of those hp models that would work and force the password to be the reset just from the IS modification so i'm left with only one option which is to flash the mean bios ship with a clean image and as u can see i build a flash image and i tried it but the password it's still there my only wish is that i build that image wrong and that's why it didn't work, that's what i hope. so if u could check the image for me i would be grateful, i build that image on the binary level and it have everything ( serial number / the windows key ) so i hope my image is not perfect otherwise i don't think this laptop have any chanceLeave a comment:

If someone would be able to provide some expertise, I'd be very grateful.
BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....-

by STKR123Greetings badcaps community,
I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.
Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.
I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.
These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.
I learned that desoldering...10-29-2024, 06:03 AM -
by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight

by GuestHello,
I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.
I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.
I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.
However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.
Can the corrupted...-
