I have a 15 - inch Retina MacBook Pro from the mid - 2014 model. Here is the link: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=820-3662 . The battery broke some time ago. After I removed the battery and plugged in the original power adapter, the MBP could boot up normally. However, when I checked with IntelPowerGadget, I found that the CPU speed was limited to 0.8 GHz, and it ran very slowly. Later, I found a solution on GitHub. There is an open - source project called cputune that can set the CPU running speed. So I can now run the MBP at full speed. But another problem... -

tl;dr: minimal electronics experience and my first repair, lifted 8 pads off the laptop display LED controller board when attempting a connector replacement, options are attempting pad repair or jump wiring.

I've got 2.2GHz i7 Logic board for MBP 15" A1398 Mid-2014 MacBook Pro. Received it with no past history. Did some microsurgery to move iSight adapter to it as it came to me with ripped pads for it and no connector. Have been waiting for a heatsink to arrive to start fully testing when assembled..
Everything seems working: booting / charging, however FANS run on full blast (MAX FAN RPMS)
Thought to check what ASD can point out and it gives no specific clue. It goes to certain point and then machine goes to sleep and does not come back on. Adding... -

Got machine with liquid damage - Apple MacBook Pro 15-Inch "Core i7" 2.5 Mid-2014 (DG). Wasn't powering on completely. After inspection got the idea that charging IC is blows and couple more places of corrosion (swapped few more components form doner board).
I have a spare working logic board with irrelevant physical damage (just a donor board to me now) Apple MacBook Pro 15-Inch Mid-2014 (IG).

Hi all,
I’m trying to recover a Samsung UE55HU8500L (curved UHD, 4K model from 2014) after replacing the panel. The new panel is a 55A1UU8EH, which produces excellent image quality — very close to the original.
However, since the swap, the TV enters a boot loop (Samsung logo → restart) unless I enter the service menu and perform a reset.
The service mode had been previously modified — possibly by a technician or during the panel swap — and I suspect some key settings are mismatched for the European (Greece) market.
