    Hello Guys,
I also have a problem with my P53 and it's as follows:
Unsoldered the BIOS Chip, read+read+read...4 times, checked with certutil CMD, everything was fine. Used the autopacher on the bin file, write it on the Chip and again 4 times read and checked with certutil, again everything was fine. Resoldered the Chip on the MB, 15-20 minutes to put the laptop back together 😭 I hate this models... Plugged in and ... nothing. The power button light comes on, stays like that for 2-3 seconds, shuts down and repeat. After the second shutdown, it comes back on but this time blinking and accompanied by a clicky sound. I've tried counting (thinking it's a code for a error of some sort) but I've stopped counting after 60 🤣 It just keep going, as long as the AC or battery are connected. Nothing on the display, not even a sign. Because it's so damn hard to disassemble and put back together this laptop, I'll do it again if someone can look at the files and tell me if I did something wrong. Or maybe can someone much more better than me at this, unlock the original file. Thank you 🙏🏻

bios locked, i took 4 bios dumps (bios1.bin) (confirmed via certutil hashfile MD5, they were all same) via unsoldering the W25Q128JVSQ and using the CH341B programmer, then patched it (bios1_PATCHED.bin), wrote to to IC, read the IC and confirmed with hash that the file is correctly written as patch and it was, soldered the IC and went to boot the laptop and it charges both the batteries but no display, no light on power button, the speakers aren't there because they were missing when i got this from the ewaste bin, i still connected an external speaker via 3.5mm jack but no idea if it will still be picked up while in bios, the power button light flashes 3 times when i plug it in which as per lenovo is just it signaling that it was plugged in? then i flashed the original bios and still same issue, no display (before any of the steps it was working fine), then read this sub an saw the ME Region thing(mepatch.bin), did that, same issue, Any help would be massively appreciated, I'll attach all 3 files for review, please let me know and after every flash i read the IC and confirmed that the flashed file and the read file after flash had the same hash.

    Hi everyone,

I just managed to unlock the supervisor password on my T480s.

    PC model: 20L7001NMZ
    Motherboard: NM-B471
    BIOS chip: WINBOND 25Q128JVSQ

I used a CH341A with an 8-pin clip directly on the chip (soldering isn't my thing).
I used NeoProgrammer v2.2.0.10 because I couldn't find my chip in either CH341A Programmer or ASProgrammer.

Using the 8-pin clip that comes with the CH341A was a real pain — I think there were contact issues, and I had to reposition the clip several times before NeoProgrammer could detect the chip. It took quite a while each time I wanted to connect it, but eventually, it worked.

It wasn't smooth sailing; I ran into a few problems. Honestly, I don't fully understand what I did, but in the end, it worked! Here's a step-by-step of what I did:
    1. Backed up the original BIOS chip to a .bin file
    2. Ran the autopatcher script, which created a "_PATCHED" .bin file
    3. Erased the chip and wrote the patched file
    4. Turned on the computer

At this point, the laptop started beeping weirdly (beeps with different noise levels 5 or 6 times) with a black screen, then shut down.
Tried this a few times — same result every time.
    5. Flashed back the original BIOS file — the laptop was back to its initial state. Not bricked, thankfully.

A bit desperate, I tried something else, not really knowing what I was doing:
    1. Downloaded the BIOS file shared by Stefan Steff on this thread (4th post) :
      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...20l8-bios-dump
    2. Booted the PC with that BIOS file — it struggled a bit, rebooted once or twice, then asked for the Supervisor Password
    3. Exported the BIOS from the chip again and compared it to the original Stefan Steff file — it had changed
    4. Ran the autopatcher on this new BIOS file, then flashed the patched version to the chip
    5. Followed the patch usage procedure:
        - Boot the machine
        - Press ENTER/F1/etc. to enter BIOS
        - Type any character for the Supervisor Password
        - Press Enter when the Hardware ID shows
        - Press Space twice when asked
        - Power off
    6. Finally, I reflashed Stefan Steff's BIOS file — and voilà: no more Supervisor Password, and the PC works perfectly.

Don't ask me why I followed this exact process — I'm not sure myself — but it worked for me.

    Hope it helps someone!

Yes when I put back original file the laptop starts and goes to the password prompt. I entered any password but no luck. Could be the patch file is not working properly.

Hey guys, could I please check if the autopatcher can be used on T14s Gen2 thinkpad to remove the BIOS password? Or LPC bypass method should be tried on these newer thinkpads?

Thank you so mush. Been able to remove password on second hand A475.
Did that on Linux Mint though, as the script refused to do anything on Windows even though Python 32 and 64 was installed (tried on two laptops one with fresh install)

    ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
    by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
    Some issues
    A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

    Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
    by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
    by Wahaz
    Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2523nd - Dimm2 slot disabled after corrupt bios repair? Advice requested.
    by Bloodhoundje
    Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...
