Unfortunately the customer bricked the bios chip by turning it off mid way through an update - i have tried to read the chip but no usable data is on it

If anyone has a copy of this file i would be eternally great full

Copy the DMI from your backup and paste-insert into the new bios using the off-sets provided 74E000 - 74FFFF .

but it was in the EC, I changed it but the laptop still does not turn on or give life, does anyone have the ec file to program and know if it can be programmed with the ch341
