Not sure why my response went to the other post. Reposting here.

Based on the image found on page 21 -

it starts out as the image on the left when I boot, then shows the second image and prompts me to connect to internet.

I found couple clips on youtube about using either paid or modifying the bios, but from reading the multiple posts here, it seems the bios method is not possible(?). If so, why did Siddig post T203 unlock bin on 2/25/22 which includes my model number A2179 in the zip file? This is what's confusing me. Is it that this flashing method is what is patched by the new Bridge OS?

Also, from my reading it seems paid solution is temporary in removing the lock. I don't mind paying, but don't want to waste money on something if it's not permanent.

Nobody knows if the crack will be permanent for intel T2 macs. But Apple won't likely spend ressources to try to patch it for models that are at least 3 years old and on a platform they moved away from.

Btw apple is ditching software upgrade support of intel macs at an accelerated pace. Monterey supported macbook air models from 2015, ventura from 2018 only.

Unfortunately that's not true my friend, Apple is releasing new bridgeOs for T2 macs almost once a month with always new changes mostly security, I dont think they will let the T2 macs go easy until another few years from now maybe 2025 or more since they are known to support macs sometimes up to 8 years, so they will keep patching and we will keep h@cking. till today we can do great things
          like
-bypass old & new bridge icloud
-remove EFI & keeping the data
          -changing SN all from software
          -even cracking ssd encryption

My friend let me summarize it for you
you have A2179 which is T2 mac with intel CPU
            so

If you have iCloud lock old bridgeOS you can you pay a tool for bypass or buy T203 to do it manually "T203 will cost you more than paying a tool"

if you have mdm lock then buy T203 to change SN or find someone that can change SN without T203, that's possible as well

If you have efi lock old bridgeOS you can you pay a tool for bypass or buy T203 to do it manually "T203 will cost you more than paying a tool"

new bridge can be unlocked too if you have icloud, efi, mdm

Thank you for the clarification. From trying to restore the system after the initial download, the only option I get is to enter the icloud email address which I don't have as this is from a third party that sold it as parts. I figured I should take a shot at trying to get it in a usable state, instead of just dismantling it for parts only. I understand the need to protect a device if lost or stolen, but this level of lockdown on a system is like a sin. Especially for tech lovers that try to repair or reuse. At least allowing to install Ubuntu would have been great. Not sure if anyone tried it and was successful.

I got the system for much less than what the T203 costs. My confusion still is there is a post here from Siddig on 02-25-2022, 09:59 AM "this is all T203 unlock bin .you can use any programmer to flashing it."
The zip contains a file named A2179 T2 Unlock Data.BIN. Is this something I can use to flash the bios to get around the lock? Has anyone tried this? Is this something usable to avoid paying for the T203 or paid service?

Password removal on MacBook Pro A2159
                      by mferna14
Hi friends., I am working on MacBook Pro A2159 touchbar 2019. The old logic board was liquid spilled so I ordered another logic board from AE. Received it & all worked fine till I got to the Chinese login screen where the login screen password tobe entered. I tried to reset the password but it again gave me options which I do not know about the Apple ID. I formatted the onboard SSD. & wanted to change the startup boot sequence but in order to change it, again the password is needed for that too. Is there a way to get rid of this password?? The seller has not replied back past 2 days, how...

MacBook Air 13 2014 - Remove EFI password
                      by ritalo
                      Hello,

                      I have a MacBook Air 13 inches 2014.

I have set a EFI password and I can't remember it : now I want to reinstall macOS and I can't because the MacBook is asking for the password.

I know how to remove the password with a usb programmer.
I plug the usb programmer to the motherboard and to my pc with usb, I read the EFI and I save it to a file.

Then I have to find this value in the file : $SVS because it indicate where is the password.

But I can't find the value.

                      I have attached the file

                      Thank...

late 2013 13" Macbook pro firmware password HELP
                      by cyber16
I have done many of these over several years, But its been some time since the last time.

Normally I dump the rom 3-5 times and compare before anything else
Which I do have clean dumps, then I would search for $SVS and ff ff out every thing that follows that including the $SVS all the way down to the next large series of ff ff

Upon 1st boot I will zap pram a few times, Password IS GONE
yet the laptop is acting strange, powers off all of a sudden for no apparent reason.
Besides that, the trackpad clicker does not work in internet recovery and other odd...

                      Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

                      MacBook Pro 2018 - A1990 Dead - not charging - only 5V
                      by robka
                      Hi,

                      my MacBook Pro 15" 2018 Touch Bar (A1990) doesn't charge anymore. Board# 820-01041-A

I'm not experienced in diagnostics, but I want to try to solve the problem with your help, because every local shop charges around 600€ (650 usd). Which is the value of the whole Macbook.

The Macbook was charging when suddenly the "charging sound" appeared every other second for around 4-5 times.
After that the Macbook was dead. It isn't charging anymore.

The USB-C Port where the charger was plugged is burned. Also The Cable and the...
