padgurc Please backup the BIOS chip from the new board, and if possible, also backup the BIOS chip from the old board and attach both here

If you have "Manufacture Programming mode is in Unlock mode" message at boot up you can use BCU, otherwise if you set Manufacturing Programming Mode to *Lock you can't change anything in BCU anymore unless you flash a clean BIOS
Best to copy DMI area from dead board to new board, if both boards are the same model (same CPU generation, same board number)

Thank you, it will probably be a little more difficult to do this with a dead board (I don't have the tools), but I'll try.

You need a SPI flash programmer, cheapest option is the CH341A

I finally got the programmer from Ali yesterday. I am adding a link to backup of my new MB and a backup of the dead one. I would appreciate any help you can give me gurus, with instructions on what and how to do.

          Dead MB: *******

          New MB: *********

          Thank you, Dan

Thank you for sending it. Unfortunately the notebook booted successfully only once and upon the next reboot, it cycled immediately at the beginning. I added a working backup, and it works fine with the SKU number error. The new MB has a different CPU (N4200) whereas it had a "dead MB CPU N3050, see pic. Do you have any other ideas?

Both use the same System Board ID 0832E (same BID)
Original board according to S/N: Motherboard (system board) UMA CelN3350 WIN
Replacement is Pentium N4200, same "Apollo Lake" CPU generation

Try again with clean BIOS extracted from HP website, DMI inserted

                HP 250 G6 Notebook PC
                BIOS Ver. F.77
                BID 0832E
                S/N CND8115JPR
                Win key + DMI 3A9000-3AAFFF
First boot may take few minutes, enter BIOS setup, load setup defaults, on "Boot options" load HP factory default keys, disable Secure Boot, enable Legacy Support (if Windows wasn't installed in UEFI mode)

                0832E F77 padgurc.rar
It should still have "Manufacture Programming Mode is in Unlock mode" at startup, use BCU to lock MPM, change the * from *Unlock to *Lock

                Code:
                Manufacturing Programming Mode
                    *Lock
                    Unlock
Or with the "no DMI" BIOS, you should enter the following:
                Code:
Product Name: HP 250 G6 Notebook PC
                Serial Number: CND8115JPR
                SKU Number: 2SX62EA#BED
                Build ID: 17WW3U3T601#SBED#DBED
                Feature Byte: 3K3Q6b7B7J7M7WaBapaqasawbhbzcbdUdpdqfP.fM
                System Board CT Number: PGUMLE61VAFDWE
                System Family: HP 200
Make sure you don't have extra characters at the end of each string, such as Tab or something else
UUID you can copy from what you already have (in hex format), or BCU will generate a new one, you should enter like this:
                Code:
                FB8D821234EB11DEB27E00235A9DD9D3
                It will translate to {12828DFB-EB34-DE11-B27E-00235A9DD9D3}
                0832E F77 no DMI.rar
Don't lock MPM yet, reboot, check if the info is correct, afterwards you can lock MPM

I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, look at the pic please. I'm also adding my BCU config.txt file. Could you please check if all the data is correct, looks all good to me?

                    Code:
                    Manufacturing Programming Mode
                    Unlock
                       *Lock
MPM is locked in your original BIOS, that's why you can't change anymore, once it's locked you can't change to Unlock until you flash a clean BIOS with external programmer
Did you flash any of the 2 BIOS provided in post # 187?

I tried both, but I was only able to successfully boot into the WIN environment with "no DMI" BIOS. I later changed it with BCU and it seemed that everything was working as it should. Later I locked MPM as well. After changing some parameters in the BIOS it apparently "broke" again and I can't even enter the BIOS settings. I have to repeat the process again and test the operation thoroughly.

I repeated the entire procedure but without success. "0832E F77 padgurc.bin" was in a reboot state and I couldn't even get into BIOS Setup any more. With "0832E F77 no DMI.bin" I successfully changed the following with BCU: Product Name, Serial Number, SKU Number, Build ID, Feature Byte, System Board CT Number, System Family. Rebooted and everything looks fine in BIOS. After the first start of Win with BCU, I also performed "MPM Lock". Rebooting again causes cycling and I cannot access nor bios nor the Win. I try also with "Win key + B + Power ON" for BIOS Update and the system no longer boots at all. Tomorrow I will try to add my backup again.

Do you get HP logo when it reboots?
Try removing battery and HDD/SSD, check if you can enter BIOS setup

EDIT: BIOS chip is 1.8V for your board LA-E821P, make sure your programmer supports 1.8V chips, or use 1.8V adapter

                            Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
                            🧩 Initial Issue
                            • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
                            • External display (HDMI) shows
                            ...

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                            Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....
