Ohhh! My bad, I'm truly very sorry to have broken a cardinal forum rule. I offer my apologies to everyone and particularly to SMDFlea. Reading the rules is a must. Thanks for pointing it out to me.Hello everyone, I have a Hp probook 650 G2 that is working well, problem is, it switches on the fan when the laptop have been shutdown. This will run till the battery drains. I have tried flashing with BIOS downloaded from here but it doesn't display anything.
When i "borrow" BIOS from a similar motherboard, it doesnt power, or when it powers, no display.
Attached is the original bios dump. Any help is welcome.
PS: I'm trying to find time to read about BIOS ME etc, between my workshop hours, hoping to succeed.

I have an HP EliteBook 650 G2 (CIRCUS-6050A2723701-MB-A02) with no audio. The problem is not with the driver or speaker. the sound works in the BIOS menu (I can hear the beep). Could the BIOS be causing this issue, and how can I fix it?

I don't think the bios would have problems... there is a USB adapter that has a headphone output... try this and see if you have sound, after that we'll see... informative picture, you can choose what you want..Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

by studdy05Hp Probook 450 G7 s# SCD0348W35 had a locked BIOS. Bought BIOS and EC chips off Ebay that were supposed to match this machine - the 450 G7. Flashed in the BIOS on chip i bought using a CH341. BIOS unlocked next boot. Some error to contact HP. Entered BIOS and reset to system defaults and rebooted. Machine worked fine but every cold boot the contact HP message popped and everything else worked as fine. Assumed the error was from EC chip not matching BIOS that i just flashed in. So i flashed in the EC that was supposed to match from the EBay chip i bought and instant brick.

by PhadDear All,
Hope that this post is at the right place of the forum.
I am seeking help and technical advice to remove bios admin password from HP ProBook 4520s.
The laptop is operating normally and, I am not facing any major issue with it except; the bios admin password that I found about by coincidence only few weeks back.
As the laptop is operating normally, I am reluctant to take it to a workshop to de-solder the bios chip in order to read it by an external programmer, as I am not an expert in doing such a thing.

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight

by cr4zychrissHello everyone,
I am requesting urgent assistance to unbrick my laptop, a rebranded TongFang GK7MRFR chassis. The laptop is completely dead following a faulty in-OS EC flash attempt.
I have successfully used a CH341A programmer and can read/write/verify both flash chips, but using my backups/extractions has failed to restore power. The root cause is likely a corrupted Intel Management Engine (ME) region or an incompatible EC/BIOS pairing. System & Hardware Details- Barebone / Chassis: TongFang GK7MRFR
