    840 G1 BIOS MOD HELP

    Greetings everyone.
Please i need help in building a flashable BIOS firmware from exe executable.
please, i need a tutorial on how i can achieve that.

I'm currently working on Elitebook 840 G1. the user forced to shutdown when the PC was updating. the pc does not recognized HDD or NGFF since then. i've fetch various BIOS dump but none helped.

i want to try to build the firmware from the update.
I have fetched the updated file and extracted it with 7-zip, the bin file size is 8mb, meanwhile the BIOS image file is 16mb.

the extracted file did not contain the ME region. this is where i need help so that i can have the total 16mb flashable file.

i will appreciate learning how to do it. any tutorial will be appreciated.

    thank you all

Look for another bios chip, it might be on the other side of the board. When you find it post your backup and Type the laptop serial number, full name and model, motherboard model, etc.

      Thank you so much SMDFlea.

There is another BIOS chip, 2MB, beside the main BIOS. Attached are the backups of the file and the backup of the main BIOS.

However, I can't vouch for the originality of the backup file, because the PC has been taken to at least one repairer before I laid my hands on it.

I thought EC was an 8MB or 16MB file, not 2MB. Maybe you misread the chip.

I made several backups, all were the same size.
the size also coincide with the bios dump+EC that I found on the net- 16mb and 2mb respectively

BIOS file for ASUS F542UN laptop
                by Sebastian Codrean
Hello to all of you! I need help with a BIOS file.
The BIOS chip is fried on my Asus F542UN laptop, and I bought a new chip that needs programming. I have a CH341a programmer but I need a .bin BIOS file. On Asus support page the firmware has another extension, .310 and from reading on this forum I understand that that file is not complete BIOS.
So, in short I need the "complete" BIOS .bin file to flash on the new chip. Another issue is that on back of the case the label says F542UN but on the sticker on the motherboard it's X542UN.

HP Pavilion 15 bc400ns - Complete Black Screen - Only video on live usb
                by iZakre
                Hello everybody!

To put you in context I recently replaced the battery from my HP Pavilion 15 bc400ns with a used one, everything was going good. The same day, I decided to update the BIOS, everything went good. The thing occurred after I let the battery drain iddling on Windows 11 for the second time to calibrate it that the screen did not turn on again, the computer was on but the screen did not turn, like it would not wake from hibernation. I decided to restart the computer but got no video.

The thing is that I had installed TeamViewer and could log into the computer...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
                by Wahaz
                Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

                Hi Guys,

I need a BIOS file for a AORUS 15P XC please. It has i7-10870H and RTX 3070. Motherboard is ga-rx5lxc rev2.0. The Bios chip is a Winbond W25R256JVEQ. This chip has a 32MB capacity however the official bios from there website only has a 16MB bios which cant be right. It currently has a black screen issue and doesn't display to external display. If anyone has a bios file for this laptop it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!...

BIOS file for N550JK (original dump attached)
                by joshAU
                Hi all.
I'm looking for a BIOS file for an Asus N550JK.

I have a Asus R552J, which I believe is identical to the Asus N550JK.
I downloaded the latest BIOS (210) for the R552.
                It is named N550JKAS.210.
The BIOS file is however only 6mb in size.

I've read the chip with a CH341A programmer and verified the file.
That file is actually 8mb in size.

I'm wanting to remove the BIOS password from this unit.

It prompts you to input the password when turned on, so its sort of behaving like a power on password rather than...
