Arduino, thinkpadeepromreader.ino and IBMpass. I have done it before but I forgot what model it was. Last 3 times I tried, it did not work for some reason.
T420 has that eeprom on bottom side sadly. Takes a bit more time to use the shorting method.Last edited by RethoricalCheese; 01-10-2020, 11:15 AM.Comment

Good day. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong topic. I saw somebody selling a Thinkpad E495 with a Ryzen 3500U CPU near me. In the pictures the laptop is running windows 10. I contacted the seller and asked a few questions about upgradability and if it has a bios password on it. He confirmed it has a bios password. I searched through the forum, I found a guide regarding removing the bios password using the autopatcher, I also found a thread with the e495 where people requested help with unlocking the bios password.

I have a laptop that was purchased second-hand, and I am able to boot Windows on and extract the BIOS dump (ONLY the BIOS region, I was unable to dump anything else due to an FCERR I received trying to dump the other regions) and use normally. However, because the BIOS is locked with a supervisor password, I am unable to use anything else except for Windows, and it has also disabled some hardware features of the laptop itself, such as the fingerprinting module, etc. that I really do wish to use.
I have been digging around for nearly 2 weeks trying to find any mention of the same model... -
i have Lenovo Thinkpad X13 gen 6. with supervisor password enable. anyone know how to remove it. as i am starting this thing first time so dont know. but i am good in solder.
