ASUS F15 TUF Dash FX517ZC-HN114W BIOS

    Hi All,
Laptop: ASUS F15 TUF Dash FX517ZC-HN114W

Context: When I was out the house my partner hard shutdown laptop while BIOS was updating, so my son has no working laptop now. Also as a result I know the BIOS on the chip is messed up so I can't extract it using the ch341a and use it to perform the method explained on site to modify an update downloaded from the ASUS website to get the BIN to flash.

If anyone can help with a BIOS BIN/ROM file for this laptop, I would be forever in your debt! Thanks if you can help!

Assuming it is less than 2MB as the Winbond 25Q16JWNIQ I found on board only has 2MB capacity. The ASUS 317 CAP file appears to be 38 MB…

You can still backup and post the corrupt bios as it might be repairable.Find another chip, the bios is bigger than 2MB, wrong chip.

Thanks for your help all but I think this one is beyond me as I cannot get an adequate connection to the chip with a SOIC clip (it's a GD25R256D in aWSON8 package so the pins are mostly underneath). Going to have a break and a think.

remove the chip from the motherboard, put it in the adapter and the adapter in the programmer..

                Hi All!

Has anyone had success with any of these BIOS files? I'm looking to flash a new bios to an Asus FX517Z (Note the lack of an "E" on the end), however, its board number is the same DA0NJLMBAE0 so I'm assuming the BIOS files in this thread should work fine.

Here are all the system's IDs and other numbers:
                Model short: FX517Z
                Model long: FX517ZC-HN114W
                SN: NANRCX01S57842E
                CN: 3SDB 12M
                MFD: 2022-10
                Motherboard model: DA0NJLMBAE0 REV E

                Current problem:
Nothing happens when the power button is pressed, but the charging light is on. Apparently this behaviour started after a BIOS update, hence why I've jumped almost straight to flashing a new one.

Also, can I just flash this BIOS file to the chip following the Forum's main tutorial or do I have to also bring across any IDs from the old BIOS; MAC addresses etc? I'm a bit of a novice to BIOS flashing so some guidance would be appreciated!

Post moved to "FX517ZC-HN114W" topic. Make a backup before you do anything. When you have it post it here

Following on from my last post - here's what Neo Programmer has read from the chip (I've read it twice and compared the results, so this should be a good read). Would anyone be kind enough to transfer the DMI information from this old BIOS to the new one - or point me in the direction of a guide on how to do it myself?

                Many thanks!

Thank you!! I've flashed that BIOS and am unfortunately still having some issues, but I've started a separate thread for them here. It looks like maybe it wasn't the BIOS that was wrong after all 🙄. Thank you for the quick DMI transferring though, it's much appreciated!
