    ASUS Zephyrus GX701LXS BIOS request

Hello everyone, trust you're doing well.

I'm currently facing an issue with my ASUS Zephyrus GX701LXS, as it isn't posting.
I've downloaded the latest BIOS version, "GX701LXS-AS.311" (v.311), from the ASUS website.
However, there's a challenge – the file size exceeds the capacity of the BIOS chip, making it impractical for writing.

The current BIOS dump ("GX701LXS.307 bios-dump.bin" find attached), is of version 307.
My attempt to extract "GX701LXS-AS.311" using the "AMI_BIOS_GUARD_Extractor" was aimed at combining the dump with the updated 311.
Unfortunately, I've encountered an obstacle: the "BIOS Region.bin" in the dump is 12.288 KB, while the main BIOS on the updated version is only 6.016 KB.

I'm looking for help in extracting the necessary portion of the BIOS.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Tried to attach the bios dump and extracted bios-es, wasn't allowed, hope you understand.

@hoaca388 Thank you! I genuinely appreciate it!

I'm eager to learn, and I hope I'm not causing too much inconvenience by asking.
Can you recommend a source that I can use to teach myself? or, If you could share the steps you've used... I'd truly value it.

Thanks again. Wish you the very best!

Unfortunately, after flashing the BIOS the issue remains unresolved.
The laptop is stuck in a boot loop and doesn't power on

Amazing! @hoaca388 thank you for sharing this info.

I downloaded the latest ASUS BIOS update, v311, which I believe is 256K larger than the existing dump.
Using the appropriate FIT, I extracted the dump and utilized AMI BIOS Guard to break down the v311.
The objective was to get the BIOS region from it, in order to replace and rebuilding the dump.
However, the file from v311 turned out to be smaller than the BIOS region in the original dump.

With the original BIOS the laptop powers on, but doesn't post. With the new BIOS, it's stuck on bootloop.
Do you have any idea on whether the issue lies with the new BIOS or if there might be something else causing this behavior?

Thank you for your time and assistance. I genuinely appreciate it!

I think your laptop has another error, not the bios.

It is a possibility, though I am hoping that it is not the case.
I'd expect the laptop to have the same behavior, not posting.
I'm hoping that the new BIOS is the reason for it being stuck in the boot loop and I'll continue my search for a solution, and a new bios as well.
                    Thanks!

With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

                      by DynaxSC
                      Hi,

I have a serious problem to program the Z590 chipset SRAM with a Management Engine after replacing the chipset.
The new chipset is factory new and is not containing any Management Engine. Any attempts to program it into the chipset under Windows ends with a failure (eg. Error 20: Management Engine Device not present, or something similar).
Due to the lack of the ME several ports on the board, including all M.2 ports aren't working, booting OS works only on USB. So it's now other way, as to program the chipset with a ME.

Usually on ASUS boards it worked...

Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                      Some issues
                      A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                      Things I tried

                      Hello,

Does anyone have a full BIOS dump of the ASUS Zephyrus Duo 16 (2023) GX650PY? It is an AMI Aptio 5 BIOS, but seems to be read-protected within the OS and I do not have a compatible programmer:

                      Code:
