Hi, trying to erase the supervisor password on a ThinkPad L15 gen 1 as well.

I found the three areas (3C420-3C45F, 3D420-3D45F, 3CC20-3CC3F), which contained the password or part of it. I cleared with with 00 or FF and still get "SVP error" on boot. Can you share your knowledge from the last post please? I dont seem to understand.

Ah, sorry. I figured I could have done that right away. I compared the files and it seems, I dont have the list in the 3D620 range. Also, I should mention, I tried your "shorting method" without success before. Dont know if that might have corrupted some data.

Your "try2.bin" did not work. Did not boot. Possible due to bad SN

Thank you for the effort. Sadly I forgot to disconnect bios battery and flashing went wrong. Seems like I bricked the EC firmware. Laptop doesnt start anymore and EC is not detected by SVOD4. I will have to buy a new chip probably or try an out of chassis adapter. I tried to reset the board (no charger, no battery etc)

Edit: I am sorry for the confusion. I am fairly new to working with EC firmware. Without a battery plugged while trying to connect, the EC was recognized again. For me that is odd as the NPCE68APA was only working with SVOD4 with battery connected. I was able to flash your data succesfully now, but I still got "bad SVP data".

I reviewed your file and saw that I made an error before and erased too little. Thank you for correcting my mistake!

Bit of back story: laptop had "bottom cover tempered" error before playing with EC firmware. Do you think that is still in firmware hidden? And maybe is our problem?

Also I saw you provided a lot of files for other guys in this topic. It was nice to follow your process of thought on these. Did you ever get feedback from ppl that a removed pw section in EC firmware succesfully cleared the supervisor pw?

search in the L14 subjects, I think it worked once.
This EC model is complicated and no one tries to clean it except me.
                  Shame.
I don't have time today but I'll try again if you want

Hey, sorry for delay. I would appreciate if you tried the pw removal again. I dont see a point on what to change in the file again.

Do you have experience with flashing a 'clean' EC file from a different SN laptop? Found clean EC file for a L14 i5 10th gen

                    Model# NM-C631 with NPCE68APA

I wasnt able to get it to boot with shorting. Always been stuck on logo.

Do not want to spam, but more to share my findings.

Booting with your cleaned EC resulted in a different EC file. I read it again and it seems that the EC is alter in one of the pw spots

I tested the L14_clean_EC.bin and was able to boot, but "system configuration is invalid" is showing up everytime. I will try to rebuild my original file with the L14 one and give it a try.
